Metallica’s Mission Metallica Beta website went live today for a few minutes and then went down from what I read. I think the official launch date is May 12th. Here is the teaser and traler from the site anyway. Enjoy?
Back in early January, Prosthetic Records sent me a review copy of Byzantine’s Oblivion Beckons. I loved it! It was an amazing record but shortly after it’s release Byzantine announced that they would no longer be continuing as a band. This disappointed a lot of people and the reason for the break up was never really clarified by the band publicly.
With the booting of Tommy Vex, Divine Heresy were left in a kind of tough predicament due to booking on the Tyranny and Bloodshred Tour. Divine Heresy have temporarily recruited ex- Periphery singer Jake Veredika as their current touring vocals. Check out footage below, it’s fan filmed (DeaDlyCorpsE528) so it’s really rough and hard to judge the singers capabilities.
10 years ago, Shadows fall out of Massachusetts released their debut record called Somber Eyes To The Sky on Lifeless Records. With Phil Labonte on vocals Shadows Fall sounded much different than the Shadows Fall of today with Brian Fair. Not taking anything away from Brian, but they lost an extremely talented vocalist in Phil Labonte. However if this didn’t happen, we would not have All That Remains.
My 11th anniversary was last Monday, May 5th. I bought my wife a nice Kitchen Aid mixer that she’s been wanting for the longest time and I was kind of up in the air on what I wanted as my gift. I’ve been contemplating buying a bass guitar for a long time. Waiting to find something that I like and that I’m actually going to play. So after cruising a bunch of pawn shops today we finally went to a local Music franchise today called Redphish Music (Smithfield, NC. A great store with really cool staff) and I saw this bass sitting there and gave it a shot. I saw this ESP LTD f-54 4 string bass guitar awhile back when I went in there to check out Dunlop Crybaby pedals. It had just arrived and when they open the box it had a scratch on it so they said back then that they were going to put it up for sale as a scratch and dent special. To my luck it was still there and I got it for about 50 bucks cheaper than you can find it in other stores. I like it so far. It has a nice narrow, smooth neck and sounds great through a regular guitar amp…the bass amp will have to come at another time when I can afford it. I’ll post other pictured of my electric 6 strings some other time. After that we went and watched Iron Man. If you haven’t seen the Iron Man Movie go check it out. Robert Downey Jr. did a great job in the role as Tony Stark.

At long last! Everyone’s favorite Swedish tech-metalers, Meshuggah, have offered up a sneak peak at the first video from their critically-acclaimed new record, obZen. Fittingly, the Killswitch Productions-helmed clip gets a cinematic trailer, and Mike Pecci and Ian McFarland’s eerie horror flick aesthetic is immediately noticeable. The video stills are exceedingly creepy in a sort of Francis Bacon vs. The Cell sense. Who’s pumped? Keep an eye out for the official worldwide debut of the entire music video very, very soon. And in the meantime…
