“Head” Case
July 31, 2007 by Scott
So Brian “Head” Welch kicked his meth addiction and found God. Good for him. He’s selling a book, telling his story and in the meantime Korn gets a bit of bad publicity from it but it’s not effecting the band or the fans. This is a case where he is going to be scrutinized for his sudden spirituality. Let’s not go the wrong way with this. Suddenly every metal fan wants to call him a sheep, a phony and/or a hypocrite because suddenly he’s “using” Jesus to sell his story. Read more
The Warped Tour Organizer Speaks Out Against “Free” Ozzfest
As we all know this years Ozzfest is “Free”. I put free in quotes because tickets are not that easy to get and the line-up really isn’t that good. So even though its free is it still worth it to sit or stand out in the blazing sun to watch a less than mediocre show? Read more
Metal Shavings 7/30
What a weekend! I’m glad to be back. I’ll save you guys my sob story of how grueling the drive was and get right to the news.
Down promises the new record in September and Bassist Rex Brown says its going to be “the most f***’n amazing and classic Down record ever made.” This is actually old news but I guess they want to reassure everyone that they are still out there. Read more

Tired Of Special Edition Releases…
Is anyone else tired of Special edition releases? I buy a CD and 4 to 6 months later out comes a special edition with bonus tracks and videos. What really sucks is when you buy one and the bonus tracks are crappy live tracks and/or demos that should have been left in the studio. Read more
CD Review: Megadeth United Abominations
July 24, 2007 by Scott
I know this CD had been out for awhile now but I just got it after a long hesitation. After Cryptic Writings I was very hesitant to buy another Megadeth CD. I didn’t even bother with risk and The System has Failed just didn’t do it for me. I’ve tried to convince myself many times that “System” is a good cd. I take it out to the car and try to listen to it on my way to work but I take it out after two songs and it sits in my glove box until I bring it back inside again. Read more
CD Review, Mastodon : Blood Mountain
July 24, 2007 by Scott
Yeah, this one has been out since last year but
once again, I just bought it so I’m going to do a review on it anyway. I’ve been on the fence about this band for some time now because of a few reasons.
