Hatebreed Update

December 31, 2007 by Scott

novinec.jpgWell It seems that Frank Novinec actually broke his leg and has to see a specialist today. I don’t even have all the details on how this happened. They were supposed to play Rochester, NY Sunday night and it was supposed to be recorded for an upcoming DVD. No news yet of when and if the show will be rescheduled.

Beatallica…WTF? This Is Brilliant

December 30, 2007 by Scott

beatallica.jpgBeatallica? Yes this is actually old news. They have been around for awhile now and released their debut album “Sgt Hetfields Motorbreath Pub Band” back in July. Now I know what your thinking. The Beatles and Metallica…but how? Well I’ve listened to a few tracks and I’m still asking that same question, but somehow they make it work.

Fusing Metallica style riffs and lyrics in with classic Beatle tunes seems all to easy for these guys. The singer doing his best…probably THE best James Hetfield impersonation I’ve heard. Give them a listen with the songza players below and let me know what you think! Read more

10 Metal Stars I’d Like to Drink A Beer (or 9) With

December 29, 2007 by Scott

heineken.jpgSo I’m sittin’ here throwing back a few cold ones watchin TV and I start thinking about some Metal stars I’d love to be able to drink a beer with and shoot the Sh!t. I’m sure it would get interesting at times and maybe even violent, even though I’m not one of those violent drinkers. Anyway, Here is my list of 10 Metal Stars I love to be able to drink a beer (or 9) with.

1. Randy Blythe. he’s so opinionated as I am and an alcohol fueled conversation would go one way or another and I honestly don’t know where that would end up.

2. Kerry King. I’d love to throw back a few Heinekens with Kerry!

3. Lars Ulrich. I’d love to get this whiny little f–k sh!t-faced (or not) and beat the hell outta him! Read more

misfits.jpg

I cleared out my iPod Shuffle the other day and reloaded it with more variety of music then just all Metal like it was before. In the process I loaded every studio song from the Misfits. The old Misfits. This only took a fraction of my iPod space because as you know Misfits songs are pretty short.

Lamb Of God, Killswitch, Soilwork and Devildriver Pay Respects to Dimebag At Dallas Stop Of Tour

December 29, 2007 by Scott

On The 3 year mark of Dimebag Darrell Abbott’s murder, Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God, Soilwork And Devildriver played a tribute at their Dallas Stop of the tour.Yeah, I know this is kinda old and the title is ridiculously long but I thought this was worth posting anyway. It’s not the best version of Pantera’s “5 Minutes alone“, but you have to give it to them for effort. This probably sounded a lot better at the concert. You know how quality can go to crap on  video of concerts. This is the best version of it I could find on Youtube. Enjoy. Video after the jump.
