I was supposed to post this on Wednesday but I kind of lost it in a bunch of other emails.

ADAI DEBUT EP …I CARRY TO BE RELEASED BY RADAR RECORDINGS

ADAI_PRESSPHOTO_1

Adai is a textbook example of how to do it right in today’s tumultuous music biz. The two friends that comprise the band are hard-working, diligent, focused and, above all, they play a compelling, passionate blend of post-rock and metal. “[The band] originally was actually a four piece; two guitars, a bass, and a drummer. One of our guitarists and our bassist decided to leave,” drummer Justin Trujillo explains. “At the time we had some of our biggest shows lined up and [guitarist/vocalist Devin Mendoza and I] decided not to cancel them and instead see if we could make the two piece thing work. [W]e got a tremendous amount of positive feedback and decided to just stick with it.”

NC Metal | The Local Scene

May 31, 2008 by Scott

ncmetal When you think of Metal and local scenes one of the last states that probably would ever come to mind is North Carolina. Most people when they think of North Carolina think of country music, rednecks and Nascar. While we do have all three of those things here, we also have a lot of kick ass Metal and Hardcore bands. Some of them are big on the scene and well known in these parts and some are trying vigorously to break out. Below are a couple bands that I have found through Myspace or word of mouth from my friend Martin and he’s got good taste in metal music. This first feature of NC Metal will introduce you to two metal bands. The Ruin, an up and coming band and The Demonstration, a band that has been around for awhile and is doing pretty well for themselves so far. Check ‘em out…

May 30, 2008 by Scott

Is it me or does Amy Winehouse and Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Ferrell both share an uncanny resemblance with each other in the two photos below. I’m not a beautiful person by any means but it Kinda makes you wonder how anyone could find either of them attractive by any means.

I first saw the Amy Winehouse Photo over at another b5Media blog Rumors In Music. I saw it and almost found it hard to believe that it was Amy Winehouse. I thought it might be another picture of Perry Ferrell in drag. I apologize for any nausea I may have caused anyone but I just had to share this.

Light This City’s Laura Nichol Interviewed By "The Dude"

May 29, 2008 by Scott

askthedude

So if you don’t have a clue who “The Dude” is (I didn’t), “The Dude” is none other than Darkest Hour’s Mike Schleibaum. Check out AskTheDude.net sometime. He answers letter and does gear reviews, among other things. Anyway, The Dude’s From The Road interview section just updated with an interview with Light This City’s Front-woman Laura Nichol. Here is a short excerpt and you can read the rest of the interview and mosey around and check out the other stuff on The Dude’s site by clicking on the link near the bottom.

Q: BEING A FEMALE IN A MALE DOMINATED METAL/HARDCORE MUSIC WORLD WAS IT EASY TO FIND GUYS TO ACCEPT YOU AS A SINGER?
A: I think the fact that Ben and I co-founded Light This City really helped because everyone who we started the band with knew that I was gonna be the singer. It wasn’t like, you know, how Angela joined Arch Enemy. She had to replace a guy and everyone had to accept her as the new singer. It was like I co-founded this band, so everyone knew and came with that kind of acceptance.
