New Slipknot Song and Mask Unveiling
So if you have not read it somewhere else already there is a new Slipknot song hitting the radio called Psychosocial. It’s also available for streaming from guitarist Mick Thomson’s Myspace. Psychosocial will be available for digital download starting tomorrow so I hope you’ve been saving your Pepsi points. I haven’t heard it yet but click here to read what Metalsucks says about it. Also keep in mind, it’s a “radio” friendly song so don’t expect it to be a paint peeling, ear-scraping type song.
It’s also said that the band will be unveiling their new masks tonight at 12:01 A.M. at http://music.aol.com. I’ll see them in the morning because honestly the masks are the last thing that interests me these days. The first two albums (after their roadrunner debut) I would wonder, but by this time I just want to hear the music.
And just for the record, I thought the Voliminal: Inside The 9 DVDwas a giant hunk of dog Sh*t. Take the damn camera from the clown and leave that stuff to the pros. It got tiresome and all I really wanted to see was concert footage and not some amateur camera work that people call “art”. Disasterpieceswas amazing…Voliminal was bad mm-kay?

Dan Donegan Is No Eddie
When I saw this cover of Guitar World Magazine I thought it was kind of insulting to Iron Maiden. If they gave Guitar World permission to do it then I question Iron Maiden’s credibility, but I doubt that’s the case and I also doubt they needed permission. I don’t think Dan Donegan is a bad guitar player at all. I just don’t dig this mockery (Or tribute whatever they want to call it) of a classic Iron Maiden work of art. Now if it was Dave Murray or Adrian Smith that would be a different story.

Sebastian Bach – Love Is A Bitch Slap Video
June 29, 2008 by Scott
On Vh1 Classics the other days I saw this video when I was channel surfing. I watched it from wherever I cam in at to the end. My first question is, is all that leather mandatory? Does he still think it’s a metal fashion statement or something? Anyway, This is one of those videos where they shoot a live performance and dub the sound over the top of it. Half the time he was singing in the audio, he wasn’t in the video. I don’t like the song. I think it’s corny and it sucks. I also know that Sebastian Bach’s voice isn’t nearly what it was back in his prime and he’s not that old. Perhaps that’s what kissing Axl Rose’s ass 24/7 does to your your vocal chords, I don’t know. Now I used to really like his vocals back in the Skid Row days. He had some really great pipes and could hit those high notes but those days are over. I can only imaging how awful this is in a live performance. Watch the video…do the math, gargle afterwards.
Straight Line Stitch – Black Veil Video
June 29, 2008 by Scott
Straight Line Stitch’s new video for Black Veil is a lot better video and song than the first one that I saw, which was Remission. I saw this on Headbanger’s Ball last night and when it started I though “oh Christ, another crappy song/video from this band.” After the last video that ran on the Headbanger’s Ball “Remission” and I didn’t like it. The vocals just didn’t mix well with the screams going to cleans. It was just weird.
Black Veil is much better than Remission but I’m still can’t bring myself to be interested in this band…just don’t know why. Check out the Black Veil Video and after the fold is the Remission Video. Compare and let me know what you think.

Review: Neuraxis The Thin Line Between
June 27, 2008 by Scott
Canada’s Neuraxis will release The Thin Line Between on July 22nd through Prosthetic Records. Prepare yourself the technical brutality at it’s best.
With all the “extreme Metal” bands out there today it’s tough to do reviews. Some are so far out there that when you first hear them you immediately want to push eject and some have that factor that grabs on to you instantly with something different. This is one of those bands. Neuraxis have a sound that sets them apart from other metal bands with technicality in playing that doesn’t over do it. You know, those modern metal bands that can seem to have so much going on that it can actually distract you from the music and makes you lose interest?
