MetalMartyr.com 3.0, What Do You Think?
September 30, 2008 by Scott
Slight changes going on here to try to clean things up a bit. Just about every metal sight I see follows the same format…its either black or red…sometimes white. Maybe these are the standard colors for metal sites and blogs, I don’t know. What I do know is that I like to set myself apart a bit one way or another. So to start things off, I wanted a different banner from the one I first created about a year ago. Thought it was time for something new. I was also getting tired of the background color too and wanted something that wold contrast well with the banner. So this is it.
What do you think?
Chimaira Set Release Date For Next Record
September 30, 2008 by Scott
Ohio’s Chimaira have set a release date for the next record for April 28th on Ferret Music. The follow up to 2007’s Resurrection will be produced by Ben Schigel and mixed by Chris “Zeuss” Harris. Chimaira is currently looking for a label to release the new record outside the U.S.. Nuclear Blast handled those duties with Resurrection.
Chimaira commented: “One of the cool things about being in a band is that you get the opportunity to work with people you admire and respect for many reasons, including the records they have helped shape. We had the chance to work with Colin Richardson and Andy Sneap on our other records. Now we are going to let our longtime friend Zeuss handle the mixing duties.”
Megadeth Announce Tour With Judas Priest And Testament…In The UK.
September 30, 2008 by Scott
Damn, to be stuck in America with no fat wads of money to blow when things like this come around. Megadeth announce today that they will be touring with Judas Priest on Priest Feast with Testament opening in february. For real…why can’t we get more of that in the U.S.. I know we just had the Metal Masters Tour but come one. I really shouldn’t bitch about stuff like this because there are some fans that don’t get to see any good concerts. Below are the tour dates.
Gojira: "The Way Of All Flesh" Reviewed
September 30, 2008 by Scott
Gojira’s latest release The Way Of All Flesh goes hot on October 14th. The Way Of The Flesh picks up where From Mars To Sirius left off…and then some. It should definitely quench the hunger of the fans that have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for something new since 2006. What’s great about Gojira is that they have a unique sound to them. They don’t sound like every other band on the market today and their messages are positive through negative words. Where from Mars To Sirius was a conceptive album based around the environment and how we are killing the Earth slowly through mass consumption like a parasitic life-form, The Way Of All Flesh speaks of the eminent death of mankind by our own hands through greed and destruction of this beautiful rock we live on. frontman/guitarist Joe Duplatier describes the album as follows:

Testament’s Formation’ To Be Issued On Green Vinyl
September 29, 2008 by Scott
Testament’s 2008 release The Formation Of Damnation will be issued in a limited number of 2500 on green vinyl. I like green vinyl. It’s pretty cool, in fact any color vinyl besides black is pretty damn entertaining just to hold and look at. I have Slipknot’s Roadrunner debut on green vinyl and a 10″ Torche Ep on Orange vinyl. Swing on over to TestamentLegions and get it while it’s hot…or before it goes on ebay.
Orders are limited to the USA. The cost of the record is $20.00 and shipping is $5.00.

Too Much Metal. Is There Such A Thing?
September 29, 2008 by Scott
As of late I have found myself with way too much metal to listen to. Whether it’s a review of a yet to be released cd, to just a new CD I bought. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming for me to try to keep up with everything and some newer stuff gets over-looked.
Between trying to get my review up for the new Gojira The Way OF The Flesh CD to Beneath The Massacre’s Dystopia that I just got in the mail, I find almost little time to get in to one thing before moving on to the next. I don’t expect myself to be able to keep up with everything as well as catch up on some cool metal that I have missed out on in the past decade or so. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying. Sometimes it’s tough to pace yourself and not forget about the last thing you were listening to when something new comes along and with the way good bands have been releasing CD’s this year it doesn’t make thing any easier. I planned on getting a review for Gojira up over the weekend but I took it easy. The Way Of The Flesh review will be posted tomorrow for sure.
Old School Review: Grave ‘And Here I Die…Satisfied’
September 29, 2008 by Scott
In 1996 I was on my way back to Quantico Virginia from upstate New York during my 4 years in the Marine Corps and I decided to stop at a mall in Utica, NY to see what the record store had. I bought a cd that I had been looking for (I think it might have been Misfits Collection 1 or 2) and had a few more bucks to spare so I picked up a 6 song EP from a band that I had heard of but never heard. The name was Grave. How could you go wrong with a name like that. The name of the Ep was “And Here I Die…Satisfied“.
New Poll: Obama Vs. McCain

The first round of U.S. Presidential Candidate debates was on the other night. It was quite interesting even though I wasn’t totally paying attention. I don’t know where the hell this is going to go. I mean I would be a fool to say that one or the other is going to do a better job than his opponent, however you never really know how well a Candidate is going to be until he/she is elected.
