36 Crazyfists New DVD “Underneath a Northern Sky” Available Now for Pre-Order
September 30, 2009 by Eric J
On January 9th, 2009, 36 Crazyfists filmed their very first live DVD in their hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. The effort, aptly titled Underneath A Northern Sky was directed by good friend Todd Bell, who joined the band for a weeks worth of revisiting old stomping grounds, listening to stories of the formation of the band and all the antics that come along with a band who is in their 15th year and counting.
The DVD will include footage of the very first 36 Crazyfists show as well as countless other rare scenes of globetrotting by a band from Alaska who has defied the odds of coming from a place of obscurity to touring and playing major festivals around the world. Along with the live show, ridiculous backstage antics and band member interviews, all the bands videos are also present on the DVD.
This amazing DVD is available for pre-order now in an exclusive bundle that includes a 36 Crazyfists t-shirt and the DVD for a low price. You can pre-order it by clicking here!
Look for Underneath A Northern Sky to hit stores October 27, 2009!

Chthonic Kick Off Tour with Satyricon, Bleeding Through and Toxic Holocaust
Taiwanese metallers CHTHONIC just kicked off their United States tour in support of their new album Mirror of Retribution. The tour features Satyricon, Bleeding Through and Toxic Holocaust and runs through October 27th in Montreal, Quebec.
Bassist Doris Yeh comments:
“After 2 years, we finally have our new album Mirror of Retribution out on Spinefarm Records, and this is our second North American tour. We’re very excited to see the fans here, and we just met the members of Bleeding Through, they’re very nice people, but including the members of the band and staff, there will be a total 15 people on the bus!! Whew! That will be a huge family on the bus! This tour will be an awesome one, and the fans will kill themselves if they miss the show!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Kill themselves? Really, Doris?
CHTHONIC is touring to support their latest release, Mirror of Retribution, which is in stores now on Spinefarm Records. After years of controversy surrounding how to classify CHTHONIC, the band has clearly asserted themselves on Mirror of Retribution. There is no proper label for the type of dark, melodic, extremely heavy sound the band conveys on their latest release. This sound conveys the deep sadness and despair from old Eastern mythos as well as the unforgivable wrath from the history that Taiwan has experienced.
Full tour dates after the jump.
