6 Years Later…And God Still Hates Us All

Does he really? I like to think not, but I’m sure there are a few he’s upset with. I’m sure Kerry King is one of them and I’m sure KK doesn’t care. Its hard to believe that its been six years since 9/11. The years have come and passed since this tragic day but honestly we need to learn to move on. I don’t think its necessary to hold a memorial ceremony every year…trust me, we won’t forget. It was catastrophic and we were all at a loss for words with the exception of our “Fearless Leader”, George “W”, with which no doubt our British comrades say stands for Wanker! The United States and our leaders are perhaps not the best in the world…but they are by far not the worst.
Now on to what this post is really about. It’s kinda ironic how Slayer’s “God Hates Us All was released on the same day. I’m sure I’m not the only one who talks about this, but you have to admit that it is a bit strange. GHUS wasn’t their greatest record, in fact there are very few songs on it that I will listen to. Slayer are consistent in putting out maliciously heavy records that either grip you by the balls and keeps you listening like South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss, or get your interest with a few throat ripping songs and the rest kinda feel like thrown together fillers.
Now don;t get me wrong, I’m still a loyal fan but sometimes even the biggest fans are feed a spoonful of disappointment every now and then. Changing the subject, here is a little Trivial Humor for you. Did you know that Before the name Slayer was set in stone one of the names they considered was “Wings Of Fire”? I think that may have spelled their demise, even with the kick ass metal. 25 years later they are still raising hell from the smallest venues to the biggest stadium. Where am I going with this? Who knows, who cares…I have bloggin’ to catch up on!
