A Head Bangers Guilty Pleasures. 10 “Headset” Songs
You know that commercial where the two guys are riding in the car and they have the voice activated stereo system and the one guy says “Play artist Michale Bolton” and the driver gets all embarrassed? This is kinda like that.
While my main passion is metal, I’m a music lover in general and there are a few songs that I like to listen to when I don’t feel like hearing distorted guitars and screaming vocals. While it’s not something I’m proud of, it is something I’m not afraid to share. We all have those song that we only listen to when our friends aren’t around or when wearing headphones. You can’t deny it…but you can hide it. Anyway, here is ten songs that I’m guilty of enjoying that ordinarily I would not admit to…’til now.
1. Barry Manilow- Mandy (This song gets stuck in my head for days at a time. I love Me First and The Gimme Gimme’s version of it)
2. Kelly Clarkson- Breakaway
3. Pink- Family Portrait
4. Foreigner- I wanna know what love is (This is a cool ballad, you can’t deny)
5. Nora Jones - Don’t Know Why (This is a beautiful Song)
6. White Lion - Til Death Do Us Part (While a fairly stupid name, this band had some good talent)
7. Night Ranger- Sister Christian …MOTORIN!!!! (Enough Said)
8. Jewel- You Were Meant For Me
9. The Carpenters - We’ve only just begun (I don’t have to explain Myself to YOU!)
10. Dynamite Hack - Boyz N The Hood cover (That was a cool EZ-E cover)
Well, there you have it. Yeah I’m guilty of listening to these songs, but they are all musically brilliant in their own right…I’m sure some of you have some secret songs that you hide away deep in you Ipod or cool voice activated car stereo. PLAY ARTIST RICKY MARTIN!!…gotcha!

Nope, Night Ranger is so bad that they are now officially cool. The rest of your list is embarrassing though. I like three of the songs myself but I’ll never say which. I like seeing all this stuff here; pretty cool (uncool?) Good post.

Understand something, Daniel. First off this is a channel wide list. Everyone in the channel did this. This isn’t stuff I listen to on a regular basis. Its stuff thats on my windows media player that I sometimes (And when I say sometimes I mean every once in a blue moon) listen to.
Most of the time when I want to relax and don’t want to hear metal I will listen to pink floyd, led zeppelin, SRV, or something along those lines. Trust me…I don’t make a habit of listening to Barry Manilow. Besides I’m sure there are metal-heads out there with far worse “Guilty pleasures they wouldn’t dare admit to.

You have to admit…there are parts of Night Ranger’s “Sister Christian” that head phones just won’t do justice, haha. You have to crank it! LOL!
