All That Remains’ The Fall Of Ideals is to say the least, awesome. Say what you want about the former Shadows Falls singer. Phil Labonte is great. All That Remains would not be the same without him as Shadows Falls would not be the same without Brian Fair.
This record is a piece of work from beginning to end. ATR keeps the vocals diverse and overall interesting through the entire CD. The guitar work keeps your attention with great rhythms, leads and solos. The track “The Weak Willed” rips the vocal core with death-metal like vocal sound and energy while “This calling” reminds us that this is a spiritual based band. Double bass drum plays too much roll in todays modern metal and at time can be over used and leave a sour taste in your mouth to the point where you start to wish it was never invented. ATR use it and not over-use it.
You know what I really like about bands that cast aside one member and bring another in to “Better” the band is that a lot of the time it creates two bands that equally make an impact and you win twice over as we did with Metallica and Megadeth. It works here with Phil and Brian. Both fit the bill and both (bands and vocalist) rule in their own right.
The Fall Of Ideals easily gets a big fat thumbs up from me! Prosthetic records knows what they are doing when they sign a band!

i don’t know how to put in words how all that remains is such a big part of my life all i can say is u guys are truelly amazing even my 2 year old son loves ur music.

All That Remains is easily my favorite band! Every single one of their albums is amazing, with The Fall of Ideals being their best, but This Darkened Heart coming in really close. Everything from Phil’s vocals, to the great guitar playing of Oli and Mike, still sends chills down my spine whenever I hit play.
Last week, when they came onto the stage, the energy was just insane, and then they opened with “The Weak Willed.” All the people went crazy. I really can’t wait for their next release in the summer.
