Behemoth’s Nergal Suing Polish Committee

Behemoth frontman Adam Darski, also known as “Nergal” is suing Ryszard Nowak, the head of the All Polish Committee For Defense Against Sects . Nergal claims that slander was committed against him by Nowak in an interview where Nowak calls him a criminal, according to Metal Portal.
Metal has a reputation for being anti-Christian and bands keep that reputation alive…for some reason. Nothing better to write songs about I guess. It’s a trend in metal that has never died. I guess it’s a way for metal bands to connect with fans. Christians are portrayed as hypocrites, pushing their beliefs on everyone and praying to a “fake” god, whereas Satan promoting bands are doing the same thing.
Christians are called “sheep” and Satanists and a lot of metal-heads call the existence of God a lie. Well if God is a lie, then Satan is too. Where else is Satan mentioned in history? In the bible, that’s where. So if you say “Hail Satan”, and call the bible a “book of lies” then you’re a hypocrite too. You are just as much a bunch of sheep as are the Christians that you scrutinize. They call Christians “pussies” and “hypocrites” and then glorify Satan as some great, evil being that promotes living free and all this other grand stuff. How do they know what Lucifer was or what he portrayed. They only know what folklore, what the bible and what other books say about him. You don’t call the bible a book of lies and then turn around and use it or other books as reference to Satan.
Back to the story. Nergal wants a public apology from Nowak and $1000, which he says will go to an animal charity. Nowak refuses, saying that “this would give all musicians worshiping Satan the green light to do as they please while performing on stage — to burn crosses, destroy the Bible or just offend Christians.“. Everyone and everything offends everyone these days. People of different faith get offended when Christians try to press their values on them and Christians get offended by the thought of Satanism and people promoting it, among many other things.
I said it before that there are a lot of good Christian values. As with all religions, groups and races, you have bad individuals. However; You don’t have to be a Christian to have good morale values and practice them. You just have to be a good person. Faith goes beyond a book but Christians will be offended by a symbol of their faith being torn apart just as we metal fans get offended by people crucifying the genre.
Nergal said during a controversial concert “they call it the Holy Book, I call this the book of lies. Fuck the shit, fuck the hypocrisy.”. Wow, dude…that’s really original. I bet he was the first person to ever say that. Has metal become so redundant that bands have to do stuff like this in order to stay relevant and connect with fans? We’re beating a dead horse here. I don’t feel that Nowak should be calling him a criminal for ripping up a book, but I don’t think he really owes him a big apology. I guess it all depends on the laws of Poland.

Most Satanists do NOT believe in Satan as a being. Most bands that talk about Satan do NOT believe in Satan as a being. Its a stupid gimmick. He tears up bibles to put on a show.
Excuse me, but I believe you have this article ass-backwards. Nergal, and most other metalheads and metal musicians, do not believe in Satan for the same reasons you outlined; its as foolish as believing in God. They don’t worship Satan, nor do they try to enforce their beliefs on other people.
Behemoth’s Bible ripping is all theatrics. Those dudes are on stage to make a great show for their fans, not to scare a bunch of Christians into revoking their faith.
Before you start throwing around insults and assumptions, it’d be best to learn at least some of the facts.
Nergal is’nt even a Satanist. That is one of the views that has infoluenced him, but he’s not a Satanist. He’s a simple freethinking individualist occultist whose more of a Thelemite and a Crowlean than a Satanist.
Look up ‘Thelema” and also Aleister Crowley.
Nergal has every right to sue for beeing called a “criminal”. On the other hand he probably shoulda just had thicker skin about such an insult. I mean any thinking person knows ripping up a bible is not a criminal act and harms no one and theer was no mention of any criminal act besides this, obviously not a criminal.

They do not worship Satan as a being, ignorant one. They worship Satan (and even then worship isn’t the right word) as an IDEAL. A breakaway from sheep mentality, I freedom; a democracy, not a communism. That is a common misconception – that anybody in the business prays to a red horned beast in a place called hell. Lucifer was a greek god. the concept of satan ( not matter what name you give the entity) has been around before the invention of the god Yahweh. What a horrible argument by a mindless sheep.

all i have to say is that im a christain first of all and i agree that u guys have the power to express any kind of form u want about satan but ask urselves this,Why. Its of course a choice to believe in jesus christ he has changed my life in ways more than u can imagine,we are all hypocrites. but here is what your missing christainity is not a religion its a realtionship with christ through love and passion, in the bible he doesnt talk about us being religous beacuase salvation is a gift not a rule all u have to do is accept him and your gold and work on not giving in to sinful desires. being christain aint easy neither is being human but i tell u that it seems a lot easier than looking at a band promoting hate. u cant hide behind words and say that we are all hypocrytes so whats the point in the bible.is what u guys are doing is it realy worth it i mean on the inside are u getting anywhere besides making money which this world is running by there has to b something in the inside thats missingin you because i think that poeple who demonstrate there talents like that are looking for jesus just not the way they planned meaning that they find somthing else. i will prey for u guys, i realy will i jus hope that one day ull realize that what your doing is it worth it, look at yourself in the mirror looki into your own eyes i no u will feel somthing, well godbless and think about im a metal lover too and it sucks that most of it is satanic but then its a shame how people to turn to negatvity and just keep running away from what can realy help them.
