Biohazard’s Evan Seinfeld Has A Good Point About Blabbermouth Comments.

Biohazard’s Evan Seinfeld was interviewed by Terrorizer Magazine recently and the good old question of Blabbermouth.net came up. He brings up a pretty valid point. Here is just that portion of the interview.

Terrorizer: Porn and metal seem to be equally competitive and relentless environments where you’ve got to keep your profile up, build a strong identity/brand and survive the endless drama, Is the porn industry lucky it doesn’t have BLABBERMOUTH.NET to contend with?

Seinfeld: Are you kidding?! The porn sites are even worse — so full of haters, like the talentless wannabes that sit on Blabbermouth all day dissing bands when they themselves have never accomplished anything. The losers of porn are basically a bunch of guys whose dicks don’t get hard having a problem with everyone in adult film. Shut up and masturbate! The worst part is that the kind of people who are on Blabbermouth or adult gossip sites, for the most part, aren’t even people who support their respective industries. They are not buying DVDs or CDs, or even joining membership sites. They are on p2p [peer-to-peer downloading] stealing music and porn from people they are supposedly fans of. Grow some balls and steal it out of my hands, you cunts!

He’s got a good point. Of course not everyone that posts on Blabbermouth is that way. Hell I even post a comment on Blabbermouth every now and then. If you look at some of the comments on that site there are people that comment just to comment and try to be funny. Some have never heard the music of the bands they are talking trash about and just say “This band sucks” because that’s what the last guy said. I wouldn’t say Biohazard sucks, but I will say that they haven’t really put out a good album since Urban Discipline. In fact I think Evan needs to go back and listen to the song “Business” and think about what he’s done since that album came out. If you think about it, he’s probably right. The same people that sit there and post shitty comments all day are probably the same people that rarely buy the music legally. The same people that always want something for free at other people expense. They don’t get out to shows and support their favorite bands. The Internet has put a gaping dent in the music industry and now the porn industry, but I think the porn industry made bazillions off of the Internet at first so I have no sympathy for them.

I understand that CD’s are not cheap and some people are going to download every now and then. Hell, I downloaded Wrath and Earthsblood when they leaked because I wanted to hear them, but when they were released I got out there and bought them. Sometimes I do it for reviewing purposes because I don’t have many connections with record labels like other sites. I also talk trash about some bands sometimes but that’s going to happen every now and then when I get bored or fed up with a truly shitty band getting more than what I think they deserve. But in the end they are the ones out touring, selling cd’s and making music videos so they’re doing a lot more than I am and if they have a solid head on their shoulders they wouldn’t be bothered by anything this blog or anyone else’s says about them for that matter, unless it’s pure slander and defamation.

To Evan and every other musician that is asked or has a comment to say about Blabbermouth; it’s best not to feed the trolls. Besides, that site has given them more free press than any other site or magazine has, and these two get way too much press as it is.
