Genitorturers Premiere Their New Song “Revolution”

The GENITORTURERS are excited to announce two in-store signing sessions in support of their new album BLACK HEART REVOLUTION in Seattle and Las Vegas. The Seattle signing takes place on Thursday October 29^th at Silver Platters located at 701 5^th Ave N. (Corner of Roy St) at 7:00 PM. The Las Vegas signing will take place at Zia Records located at 4225 S. Eastern Ave.

GEN had the following to say about the premiere of “Revolution” on their MySpace page and the upcoming signing sessions,

“It’s a week before the release of our new album BLACKHEART REVOLUTION so we wanted to debut this ass kicking track, to give you a taste of what is to CUM. We are looking forward to hanging with our fans at both of these signing sessions and bringing the BLACKHEART REVOLUTION to a town near you.”

The GENITORTURERS live & loud line up will include longtime GENITORTURERS drummer Angel (Dope) as well as the addition of guitarists Eric Griffin formerly of Wednesday 13/Murderdolls & Nate Manor formerly of Wednesday 13/Amen as well as a bevy of “titillating” performers.

Not only will you have a chance to see one of the most amazing shows of the year, fans attending the GENITORTURERS tour have something else to look forward to. On each stop of the tour the band will be hosting a “Black Heart Video Confessional” booth to capture fans’ deepest, darkest, most intriguing “GENITORTURERS” moments and stories. Come confess your sins and the most bizarre & intense stories will be included in the band’s upcoming tour DVD. Fans can also participate by submitting videos to the band online. Atreyu Releases First Single “Storm to Pass”

Atreyu has officially released the first single, “Storm To Pass,” from their upcoming October 27th release, Congregation of the Damned. This is the second song from the upcoming album that the band has released, the first being the much heavier song titled “Stop! Before It’s Too Late And We’ve Destroyed It All.” In support of the album, Atreyu kicks of their 27-stop tour with Hollywood Undead on October 16th in Lubbock, TX.

The Destro Premiere Two Songs from Upcoming Album

Dallas, TX’s The Destro have two for Tuesday as they premiere two new songs from their forthcoming full-length Harmony Of Discord. The track “Persistence Of Ignorance” has premiered on MetalSucks.net while “Justifiers Of Malice” is running on the band’s own MySpace page. Harmony Of Discord is the band’s sophomore album on Ironclad Recordings and drops on October 13th. Speaking on the new album guitarist Nick Emde said:

“On writing this new album we threw away multiple riffs going on in songs, we cut out any soloing and it’s twice as heavy as our other material and totally focused” says guitarist Nick Emde. “As a guitarist I’m influenced by Napalm Death as they are completely fast, completely brutal with no filler but it leaves you satisfied.”

Signed by Trevor Phipps of Unearth for his Ironclad Recordings, the band released their debut As The Coil Unwinds in 2007. The album received praise from the metal elite including national publications such as Outburn who said “The band harkens back in time when renegades like Metallica wrote grand masterpieces of metal compositions… pure metal sans the trends and flashy gimmickry.” The usually reserved Decibel Magazine wholeheartedly concurred saying “The Destro nailed it pretty spectacularly from the percussive drum production and groove-heavy song tempos to the raw-throated vocals and squealy drop-tuned guitar riffs.”

Atreyu Release New Song from Upcoming Album

Atreyu’s hotly anticipated album Congregation of the Damned doesn’t drop until October 27^th, but in the meantime the band is giving fans a taste of their new material on their Myspace page. Currently the only song on their music player, the track “Stop! Before It’s Too Late And We’ve Destroyed It All” was released at 10:27pm Sunday night. The band plans to release their first single “Storm To Pass,” tonight (9/15) on their MySpace at 12:01 EST, so keep checking their Myspace for updates.

Shadows Fall Perform “Still I Rise” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Last night Shadows Fall performed the first single from their new album Retribution, due out on September 15, on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. It was a good performance, and I always enjoy watching audiences who don’t listen to metal try to clap along to the songs. Watch the video below!

In other Late Night news, Megadeth will be appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s show on Thursday, September 17th. That should be an awesome performance!

Rodrigo y Gabriela Release Track Dedicated to Dimebag Darrell

Rodrigo y Gabriela have added a number of October dates to their upcoming North American tour. With the new album, 11:11, being released on September 8th, the tour begins in mid-September and now runs through most of October.

Starting today, Rodrigo y Gabriela are offering a free mp3 to their fans. “Atman” is a Sanskrit word meaning the only deathless part of the human being. The song is dedicated to Dimebag Darrel and Alex Skolnick of Testament guests on the track with a guitar solo. Rod says:

“Dimebag is the best guitarist ever…and having Alex Skolnick playing on this track (Atman) was a dream come true…it’s an incredible solo.”

11:11 was recorded in Ixtapa, Mexico and produced by Rodrigo y Gabriela, with John Leckie co-producing one of the tracks. The album was mixed in Wales and London by Colin Richardson, best known for his work with Slipknot and Trivium. Comprising 11 new original compositions, 11:11 is the band’s personal “gracias” to 11 musicians, both past and present, who have inspired them along the way. Widely-respected acoustic veterans Strunz & Farah also appear on the album. 11:11 is the long-awaited follow-up to their 2006 self-titled debut that has so far enjoyed worldwide sales in excess of half-a-million albums. Shadows Fall’s King of Nothing is now available to download at Windows MySpace… hurry up and grab it, as this offer ends on Wednesday, August 5th.

Frontman Brian Fair said of the track:

“This song opens with my favorite riff on the record. It came out of Matt’s late night drunken riff bag, and the song built itself around the heavy vibe that it created. It is a four minute beat down!! The lyrics of this song are about the overwhelming self-medication of our world. There is a prescription for every mood these days, and people are turning into zombies. It’s time to toughen up and face your reality, no matter how brutal it may be, otherwise you will just be reigning over a world of nothingness. The bridge features guest vocals from the one and only D. Randall Blythe aka Uncle Goddamn aka The Redneck Assassin of the mighty Lamb of God. Randy came down to the studio in VA to cook us dinner, and we put him right to work behind the mic. We layered his voice with Matt’s and myself to create the three part harmony from hell!!”

Dirge Within Song “Force Fed Lies” Available For Download

Dirge Within have made the title track from their debut album available for free. They recently finished wrapped up a video for the song “Forever the Martyr” in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I personally think that’s a fantastic name for a song.

Force Fed Lies is due out September 1st, and is being released by E1 Music, and the band is going to be on the “Into the Mouth of Hell We Tour” in September and October with Trivium, Whitechapel and Darkest Hour.
