Cavalera Conspiracy | "Never Trust The Emo Kids!!" | Inflikted Review

Cavalera Conspiracy Inflikted Review. When I first heard about Igor and Max Cavalera  making amends I thought that maybe this could lead to a Sepultura reunion. Then I heard they were making a new record I thought “Whatever”. After giving up on Soulfly after the first album and Sepultura after giving Against a chance, I thought that this was just going to be garbage. When I saw the video for Sanctuary on HeadBangers Ball I was instantly stoked (not a word I use often). I went to roadrunner.com and downloaded Sanctuary and eagerly awaited Inflikted.

As most of you know, today Inflikted came out and as soon as I got out of work I drove to F.Y.E. (Yeah, I’m a sellout…douchebag.) and bought it. The title track, Inflikted, starts out the cd and is an immediate reminder that Max still has it in him with the chugging riffs like off of Chaos A.D. and also serves as a reminder that Max’s favorite word is “Muthafuckin’”. Sanctuary is Sanctuary, If you have seen the video or heard the song then you already know how great this song is. Terrorize starts out kind funny with a tribal type drum beat but it doesn’t last too long before the guitar kicks in and the onslaught begins. Moving past Ultraviolent, and Hex (Which are both great songs) to The Doom Of All Fires. The Doom Of All Fires reminds you of Dethklok. The sound of the guitars and the lyrical structure sound so similar to a Dethklok right up until the end. It’s pretty cool. Bloodbrawl is a hard hitting thrashy sounding tune but by far my favorite song is Never Trust. It’s simple fast and to the point. “Nevertrust - The Emo Kids!” The lyrics are below. The CD ends with Hearts Of Darkness and Must Kill, both great songs. I can see kids and old school fans at Cavalera Conspiracy shows throwing fists in the air singing along. It’s good to hear Max and Igor doing their thing together again and don’t forget how unbelievable of a guitar player that Marc Rizzo is.

Must Kill? THIS RECORD DOES KILL! The hype and wait was well worth it. So if you have been waiting but are hesitant for fear of disappointment, then fear not and be part of the Conspiracy!
