Chris Barnes Vs. George Fisher
May 18, 2008 by Scott
The first time I saw Cannibal Corpse was in Baltimore at Hammerjacks back in 1996 I think. This was shorlty after Chris Barnes was replaced by George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. When I saw them live I had no clue that this had happened. I was just kind of getting into the band and this was before news spread like the clap on the internet. Needless to say when the band started playing something struck me as “Not quite right” This singer didn’t look like Chris Barnes and he sure as hell didn’t sound like him…although he did sound ok. Anyway, below are two videos. The first is Stripped, Raped and Strangled, a classic Chris Barnes song being sung with George Fisher. The Second is Hammer Smashed Face, another Chris Barnes classic…but this time it’s Chris. I don’t know about you guys but I still prefer Chris although George does a pretty good job as well. What do you think?

i have not really heard much cannabal corpse, but judging from those links, i like george better. ( His deeper voice seems better , although i don’t like his regular scream much) sorry if thats not specific enough, but i don’t really know a better way to say it.
Thats cool. I’m going to do a part two of this with streaming studio recording.
They both have some talent but George has much more range, and his growling, while not as gutteral, just sounds better.
i like chris better i like them both but chirs is more brutal like entrails ripped from a virgins cunt
or i cum blood george is like make them suffer and i will kill you all great songs
first let me explain why chris barnes’ vocals seem
more guttoral to you.
You played the live recording of fisher
and the album recording of chris which was made
in 1992 and the album recording of cannibal corpse at that time sucked, therefore vocals sound more brutal. Fisher= brutality. If u think he sucks, see how that sucks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHIoted9d_M
