Dave Lombardo Speaks On Gus Chamber’s Passing

October 28, 2008 by Scott

Dave Lombardo_nc Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo released a statement (to Blabbermouth.net) concerning the recent death of fellow Grip Inc. band mate, Gus Chambers’ who sadly committed suicide two weeks ago.

“I am still coming to the realization of the recent news. We had lots of laughs writing recording and touring. He was an amazing lyricist and performer. Another loss for the music world. I will always remember ‘Gas’ Chambers as one of the greatest metal sounding vocalist. I am so glad we were introduced and chose him to be the singer in GRIP INC. There were good times and bad times but we never ‘denied the power of inner strength.’ Gus, you will never be forgotten. May God bless you. RIP.”

Just plain old not good news. I’ll be listening to some Grip to pay respect. Nobody should be “Just Another Throwaway”

I never knew Gus but i wish i had. He was a great artist and it’s a huge loss for the mankind! But he is still living among us through his music. RIP man!

Gus Chambers the man who, sporting a scottish kilt and t shirt emblazoned with ‘KISS MY BOLLOCKS” mauled the microphone whilst signalling the advent of the new punk order to cries of “Ifyouwannabearocker goback to ‘58 – cosyouwa Born Too Late’ at the Hand & Heart pub 1976 has past.
Onca a legend always a legend.
    RIP

I have been into Grip INC for the last year since I met some fellow metalers whilst diving in Baja, we’d listen to Grip on the beach, he was so respected in Mexico. For the last six months all I play in the car is Grip or Airbourne to fire me up every day on the way to work. Phenominal music, even played it when in the heat of Death Valley at night, so atmospheric.

Gus, thank you for your contribution to music and for being 100% worthy of being in my all time top five.

We raise many pints to you in Southampton in your honor.

Bon Scott, Phil Lynott, Jimi, Freddie are rock even harder with you there !!!!!!!!!!!
