Dave Mustaine Comments ON Metallica’s Induction In To The R & R Hall Of Fame.

February 28, 2009 by Scott

Dave Mustaine published the following message on Megadeth Forums concerning Metallica’s induction in to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame:

Droogies!

Metallica as you know has been selected to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So, it is with much respect that I say “congratulations!”

I also had the nice surprise of hearing that they called to invite me to the pre-ceremony party the night before, and then to the actual ceremony. Unfortunately as you all know, I will be winding down our European tour with Judas Priest so I will be unable to attend.

However, I’d like to say to Lars and James, “I am so very proud of all you have accomplished. I will continue to pray for the very best for you and your families as I always have.”

Thank you for the invitation and thinking of me.

Respectfully yours,
Dave Mustaine

This is very classy of Dave. I really don’t think that he should see Metallica as opposition anymore, even with their latest effort. I’ll say it again; Megadeth has had their won success either equal to or higher in my heart than Metallica has. It may not be from a sales or media point of view, but still extremely successful. Sadly, success these days is measured by how many lip imprints are on your ass and how fat your wallet it. From a musical standpoint they have purely progressed, while Metallica may have “evolved”. When I read this letter it made me very proud to be a Dave Mustaine and Megadeth fan.

Dave is the best! Great comment!

  4. Dan says:

I would agree. I like the fact Metallica invited Dave to attend and Dave’s comments were very well written/spoken. Perhaps James should have thrown out one additional thumbs up to the Rock and Roll committee for Megadeath.

Has anyone heard of Scott Wino Weinrich ?

I am well-versed in the world of Wino. From St. Vitus to The Obsessed to Spirit Caravan to The Hidden Hand, his work with Probot and his new Wino release. He should be in the HoF?Yes,he should, but the HoF is a joke.

Internet is full of mercenary comments, which go up during the election season. If you recall the last big one there were devoted comment-mercenaries planting a barrage of cliches, inane slogans, and expletives. So, when you see what has been typed out you also see the ‘hired hand’. Sadly most of those commenting for metallica seem just that. Hired hands which get paid per comment.

    2)
just as their ‘puppet masters’ have always been plagiarizing to get by, the most ‘innovative’ of the hired hands, the puppets, plagiarize comments and observations made by MegaFans.

    3)
There is no debate here at all, because there is nothing to debate. You don’t go around comparing Goethe with Dan Brown, though Brown would like to do that. Megadeth is incomparable in modern musical history. That which extracts the singular from the inveterate is the act of the remarkable. Metallica in that sense is metal for the headless. There is such a species out there – The Acephalous Metalhead. Those comments? It is just business.
