I heard a few tracks from this new Death Angel offering while visiting their MySpace page. This was maybe a week prior to seeing them and the immortal FORBIDDEN live at Slim’s in San Francisco. FORBIDDEN was needless to say as good as Thrash Metal gets, there is no band better in my opinion. Period. There are however some Thrash Bands that are comparable. Death Angel is one of them. In all of my years of listening and playing along to Death Angel albums, and that began in 1987 I havent heard this albums equal. This is by FAR Death Angels best work. From the opening accoustic intro to Lord of Hate through Sonic Beatdown, De-throned, on and on to Ressurection Machine, one strong thrash tune after another. Of course interspersed with some funk hooks, and rocking blues inspired Motorhead type riffs. Classic Death Angel, just more polished than before! Go buy it NOW!!
