Download Metallica…From Napster!

Oh how the tables turn. Now Metallica is offering their back catalogue available through who? You guessed it. Napster. Kind of ironic how things have changed in 10 years. To be totally honest though, Napster is no longer what it was set out to be and that was a P2P file SHARING network. I guess these days you have to pay to share, which is more or less a rent to own.

But seriously, with iTunes and P2P sharing programs that are still out there like Limewire, and the bitterness still in the mouths of Metallica fans, who is really going to pay for Metallica songs from Napster. I guess it all comes down to more money in the pockets and Metallica is trying to make their songs more widely available at every scale of the market. Will this stop people from downloading Metallica on other P2P programs? Nope. In fact it might increase, especially with Death Magnetic coming out in 3 weeks. People aren’t going to want to initially pay for the new Metallica songs unless they really dig them, and/or are fanboys/girls that buy up everything Metallica and kiss the ass and feed the pockets of the beast. We shall see…
