Fall Out Boy Doesn’t Get Me Pumped…But The Showdown Does!
October 3, 2008 by Scott
I’m so glad that I haven’t seen the Verizon commercial in the longest time, with the gym dude talking about how Fallout Boy’s new tune gets him pumped while his buddy struggles with the weights. The only things that Fallout Boy pumps is my stomach.
I have a little room in my house (and I mean the size of a prison cell) that holds my guitars, amps, music stuff and my weights. I’m not buff and cut, nor am I fat, but I like to get in there and try to maintain what muscle I have whenever I can’t find an excuse not to. I used to be religious about it last year, getting in there almost everyday, sometimes twice a day. When I do work out I prefer some heavy music like Metallica’s Master Of Puppets, Hatebreed, Lamb Of God, Etc.. This morning I wanted to listen to something that I have yet to listen to when I work out and today it was The Showdown.
The Showdown’s Back Breaker. I bought this CD awhile back and I have only listened to it about 2 times and neither time all the way through. The Showdown aren’t anything huge or different, but it’s good, chugging, sing-along metal with great riffs and cool breakdowns. These Tennessee natives know how to keep it simple, yet heavy. If you haven’t checked out The Showdown’s Back Breaker you can find it pretty cheap at the evil empire…or as most people call it, Wal Mart. You can also check them out on Myspace.

haha skrew Wal-Mart I am seriously banned from there. Gonna have to check these guys out tho. Havn’t really looked into them.
I was banned from an Ames department store when I was a teen. Shoplifted…got caught. Was banned for a year. Ames sucked anyway.
The Showdown is cool. Nothing super spectacular, just good heavy metal.
Yeah i remember Ames are those still around?
I don’t think so. The last time I saw one was in NY and that one went out of business years ago. Walmart and Target pretty much run the department store type show down south now. There are some Kmarts but I don’t know how the hell they’re holding on. “Kmart sucks, Ray.” And I’ve yet to see an “S-mart” anywhere.lol.
I think wal-mart owns K-mart now
just bought the album, seems pretty good so far.
i used to work at a mcdonalds that was part of a wal mart, was absolute hell.
got banned from mcdonalds 4 throwing my shake at the manager and one time online this kid said fall out boy was better than slayer. wtf?!
