Forgotten Shredders | Andreas Kisser

March 19, 2008 by Scott

logo_sepultura Or perhaps a forgotten shredder. I was on my way home after helping my brother move some stuff and I was listening to Dead Embryonic Cells. A Sepultura classic from the Arise album. Singing along in my best Max, I almost forgot for awhile how much I used to love the way Andreas Kisser played. Even though most of the rhythms are fairly easy, his solos always ripped!

You don’t hear a whole lot about Andreas these days…sometimes some Sepultura news here and there but it just doesn’t feel like Sepultura anymore and as I said before, I stopped listening after Against. Listen to Arise, Listen to Chaos A.D.. Those were the days of Sepultura. Beneath The Remains and Schizophrenia are great records too but I like the sound of the guitars a lot better on Arise and A.D.

The Cavalera Conspiracy coming out next week I think is going to sound a bit closer to Sepultura than Soulfly and I think that’s why I am digging Sanctuary so much.

I said it once and I’m going to say it a thousand more time. Max, Igor, Paulo and Andreas. Bury the hatchet get back together if only for a reunion tour and maybe a new cd. Come on….you know you really want to.
