What would classic metal video week be without a Slayer video? Their best video in my opinion, Seasons In The Abyss is in my opinion Slayers best record. South of heaven comes in at a close second with Reign In Blood right behind it. Slayer are veterans of a time when “Satanic” metal was not mainstream but was still strongly followed. “Slaytanic” as they label themselves, often writing songs about serial killers, strong political warfare songs and the atrocities of Nazi death camps, Slayer has covered all the areas of controversy and shock value, while keeping the music interesting and above all just plain kick ass!

You are so right here!!! I have loved Slayer since South of Heaven came out in 88. The first time I saw them was in 1991 ( holy crap that was 16 years ago ). There is in my opinion no better live band, and you are right that Seasons was the pinnacle of their existence ( with Christ Illusion and South of Heaven coming in 2nd and 3rd)

My favorite album of theirs will always be Reign In Blood….nothing can compete with Angel of Death or Raining Blood….my faves by a far.

Thats the problem I have with Reign in blood. Not enough stand out songs. Of course angel of death and raining blood are the best tracks there are only a few other I like and like very little, like Jesus Saves and Piece By Piece. Seasons has it ALL. Every track has that earsplitting catch to it. Reign In Blood is just a really fast record with very few real good singles.

Reign in Blood will always be my favorite. I can listen to every song straight through and I love them all.
