Gas Prices Causing Tour Cancelation Everywhere

Dallas Coyle of God Forbid(another contributor at Metalsucks) mentioned this awhile back when he talked about Light This City disbanding. Gas prices, even though they are dropping a tiny bit are effecting the large tours with multiple bands on the bill. I was going to write something up on this last week because I see a lot of bands dropping off of tour claiming financial hardships. I never got around to it and Vince Neilstein over at the Metal Sucks Mansion beat me to it. I’m not going to try to be an ass and write my own about it, but below is a link to his story on it with a funny picture to go along. Don’t be surprised if your favorite band is the next to drop off of a tour.

i can’t even afford to drive a truck, i had to get a cheap clunker of a car just to be able to get around, and even then i take the bus enough too. shit needs to tone down when it even starts affecting damn near every industry.

too bad everything can’t just be free, and we cant all just exchange goods for other goods and services, while all being happy and getting to go to concerts and stuff … oh … thats way too much of a hippy comment for me to be making. disregard all that -log

hah, gas is even more expensive in canada here, everyone car pools and buses now. i guess we should just be happy it took them this long to realize they can raise the prices this much and get away with it.

It’s funny how quick people are to yell ,” Impeach this impeach that !!” but nobody says anything positive when prices fall ( like they are doing right now ). I realize this isnt a political sight but I hate it when people just run around screaming BUsh sucks!! Gas costs too much!! It’s Bush’s fault. But they can’t explain why it’s Bush’s fault.

It’s his fault because he is just now pointing fingers at congress and blaming them for not taking action when gas prices did start to rise. His best solution back when they started to go up was to tell us to stop driving so much, while he’s flying all over the place burning thousand of pounds of fuel at a time.
It’s also his fault for jumping into a conflict without proper planning or intelligence. It’s his fault because 99% of the time he has that “Deer In The Headlights” look when something bad happens and he has no clue how to handle it, so he relies on a cabinet that isn’t much more qualified than he is to make the decisions for him. The smart ones resigned while they could still save a little face.
