Guitar Hero 3 Review
Well, it came out Sunday but I was extremely busy and I didn’t make it to Gamestop in time to pick it up. So yesterday I picked it up and let me tell you…Guitar Hero 3 rocks! With all new songs and battle mode it makes things interesting.
What I don’t like about it is it’s slow load and save time. I have a PS2 so I can’t say its the same for every platform. I unlocked all the songs for quickplay by using a cheat code and prepare yourself for a challenge. Even on medium, some of the songs and solos are much more challenging then the last. The solo on Metallica’s One is crazy and is going to take some practice to get it down. Good luck with Reign In Blood, its a tough one too, but fun to play.
If you have seen the set list you know that there are realy great songs on this game. From old classics from The Who to new, Nu-metal songs from Slipknot. Bonus songs include other metal favorites like Killswitch Engage and Senses Fail.
During career play you can be challenged into battle mode by RATM’s Tom Morello and Slash and if you beat them you unlock them in the character store. This brings me back to battle mode. Battle mode is pretty cool with multiplayer because you get to “Attack” the other player when you hit so many notes you get weapons such as Double notes, triple notes and other stuff to make it more difficult for the other player.
I give Guitar Hero 3 a big fat thumbs up! Pick yours up when you get a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

You are DEFINITELY right about some of the songs on medium being more of a challenge in the latest GH installment than previous games.
My roommate and I are having a blast playing on Co-op career mode, which I think is a neat feature to have added.
I give it a thumbs up too for sure! :)

Absolutely, Thats a feature that I forgot to mention. I haven’t played it yet but I plan on spending some time with my son doing co-op career.
I just wish there were more guitars to choose from, Like some BC Rich, Dean, And Jackson. However I do like the controller SG style guitars they have and the new Dimebag looking outfit for Axl.

I wish you could play bass lines without playing co-op. I don’t have anyone to cop op with, since my wife is not a big fan of games and my daughter is only 5. She is pretty good at ATV OFF Road Fury, but not very skilled at Guitar Hero.
