Hollywood Undead…WTF?

Do we really need more masked or make-up bands in Metal? We have Mushroomhead, Slipknot, Gwar, Marilyn Manson and almost every Black Metal band and we had Motorgrater, Mudvayne and members of Limp Bizkit. I may have missed some and don’t say KISS, I consider them strictly rock these days. Now in the last year or so the Hollywood Undead have rapped their way in to the rap/metal scene (Is there such a scene?). Obviously kids are eating this shit up because according to Headbanger’s Blog they have sold over 180,000 copies of their album, Swan Songs. Obviously I’m not impressed and it’s kind of disheartening when you see one of your favorite bands that does have great musical talent barely selling over 10,000 after 6 months, but these skid marks are selling like crystal meth in a trailer park. (No offense to any of my trailer park, meth-head readers.)
So who’s buying this garbage? Is it the hardcore Slipknot fans also known as “Maggots”? I seriously want to know, because I don’t see their faces all over the place and I don’t see a lot of press. Seriously, WTF? It’s a cruel, cruel world.
I didn’t want to do it but I changed the video to the same one that was in the link to Thrashhits.com. It’s a better example of the “Metal”/rap. That’s a cool site too so swing on by Thrashhits whenever you can.
OMG, they were made big by Myspace? My apologies. I misunderstood the magnitude of how cool they are because over a million jug-headed, tweener retards like shitty music.
Now, on to the explanation of the genre thing. We don’t want them categorized as metal because we have enough shitty subgenre core bands and such polluting the genre. Why don’t I want them to be considered metal? Because A) they are not, B) when someone asks me what kind of music I listen to and I reply “Metal”, then they might think I listen to shitty bands like HU. It’s bad enough that older folks (older than me anyway) think that metal is all the shitty glam bands from the late 80’s/early 90’s when everything was called metal.
When magazines that are predominantly metal oriented magazines cover “bands” like the Hollywood Undead then everyone assumes that they are metal. Fuck, H.I.M. is more metal than these guys! Rob Thomas is more metal than these guys. But wait there’s more!
What I love about bands like HU is that in a few years all their fans will grow up a little bit and realize how stupid this band is and/or was. Then they will looks like the Juggulo ‘tards with stupid home-made ICP tattoos. Fad shit like this will come and go, but the true metal will carry on and real metal fans don’t grow out of metal.
I take a wide view on metal, and all of the subgenres that have been placed upon it. Occasionally, I will post information about some of the “original metal bands”, if it’s pertinent or important enough to matter to more than a dozen people that are stuck in the eighties, playing cassette tapes and hanging speakers out of the windows of their trailers. They aren’t reading this site anyway. They can’t read.
With that said… HU sucks. Plain and simple. If they do something newsworthy (besides sucking to an extremely unprecedented level), I will try to post an unbiased report of it. Unfortunately, they are considered “metal” by more people than I want to admit, and whatever. I think Boys II Men were the best gangsta rap group of all time.

&& I am here to tell you how excited I am to go see Hollywood Undead this Friday!! It’s going to be bad ass and guess what the concert is SOLD OUT, how ironic huh? A band that sucks so badly just happends to be sold out. Who would of thought!
