If You Don’t Have Anything Nice To Say…
SAY IT ANYWAY! You hear this all the time. Your mother may have told you “If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.” Well tell that to all the “Preps”, “Jock’s” and snotty b*tches in high school who never understood heavy metal and our way of life!
You know who I’m talking about. The ones that always thought they were big sh*t because they had that corny little alligator on their golf shirts and tight-rolled their dockers, the ones that had more muscle than brains, the girls who were so stuck up that their noses scraped the ceiling wherever they went. Theses are the people that never had anything nice to say to us, the “Metal Heads“. We would keep to ourselves and they would talk behind our backs and poke fun and then wonder why we always walked around looking angry. No matter how friendly you would try to be you would still get judged by the way you dressed and wore your hair.
Who’s laughing now? All these people are no different from us now. They thought that their life was going to be all bubblegum and beautiful days. Now they are busting their a$$ for the man just as we are. Granted there are a few that are still living with Mom and Pops as there are metal heads still living with their parents but in the end we’re all the same…except for one thing. We are still listening to our beloved metal and keeping up with the new age of metal while they are still trying to make an effort to be the most popular kid on the block. This is our key to eternal youth. We still love the music, but by now we know we don’t have to dress and look the way we used to…well maybe once in awhile, but thats what keeps us young, young at heart and thats the best way to live!
This is dedicated to all the Metal heads of past present and future. Speak your mind no matter the consequences! Don’t ever let anyone make a fool of you ’cause if they do it once, they will do it again…

Well, you are officially, I think one of my favorite blogs on the music channel. Which is hard to believe since I may be the most opposite end of the spectrum — blog speaking. This is a very good post.
I think you’re right. My high school had this whole ‘freaks’ vs. ‘jock’ deal that got so out of control at one point they had to pull a bunch of us down to the office, there were all kinds of threats and just plain crap going on. All because one of the jock’s sister’s like a skater-music type kid from my crowd. What a pain.
I see some of the facebook and myspace baloney and you’re right there is still that ‘trying to be popular’ deal going on with that crowd’.
Hmmm, makes you think. Although, favorite or not, I won’t be buying the new Megadeath. So sorry :)

I still dig out my old denim jacket occasionally. Tour patches naturally, slayer, queensryche, Maiden, metallica etc and a big old black panther patch on the back with silver studs for eyes. Wish I was still young enough to get away with wearing it. Ah, the memories it brings back, moshing to Mötorhead at Liverpoo Uni, going back stage with Acid Drinkers after the gig and geting hammered, snogging that goth chick (before it became a fashion) after the Anthrax gig, voluteering as roadie/stage dude for Guns n’ roses Cardiff gigs… Happy days, I miss them :))
