It’s Official. Trivium’s New CD Title Was Stolen From A Movie

by User ImageMetal Martyr on June 25th, 2008

shogun.jpgNo, it’s not Debbie Does Dallas. It’s Shogun. At least most people know of the movie title as opposed to the Japanese meaning of it. Shogun actually means “Commander” or “General”. What’s this have to do with Trivium’s music? How the hell should I know? What the hell does magnets have to do with Metallica’s new record? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Anyway, Trivium have released the following info for those that want to read it and don’t think “Trivium sucks”. But you know you haters are going to read it all the way through anyway, just so you can find a reason to leave some sh*tty comment…we all do that.

Trivium, are proud to announce the release of Shogun 将軍, their third album for Roadrunner Records. Shogun will be released on September 30

Trivium have changed it up yet again on Shogun, choosing not to record in the familiar environs of their home state of Florida. Instead the band headed to Nashville, Tennessee to work with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Stone Sour). The result is a monolithic album that crystallizes the band’s sound and showcases Trivium’s finest elements. Vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy is thrilled with the album, saying, “We made a cohesive, epic metal album that combines all of the ingredients of everything we feel we have ever done ‘right’ musically, while adding a new direction that the music called for.

We had so much fun creating this album and hope our fans feel that energy when they listen.

I honestly don’t know what to expect or think of this upcoming record. From what Matt has been saying, it has me kind of worried if I’ll like it. I’m one of those people that liked The Crusade for the fact that it didn’t have that wierd scream/sucking sound to it. I liked the vocals and I liked the whole damn album. Like I said…we’ll have to wait and see.
