“It’s St. Patty’s Day, Everyone Is Irish”

Ok, so really…I’m not Irish and when I think of Saint Patrick’s Day or Irish things in mind I can’t associate anything Irish with metal. Perhaps I’m not in tune with all things Irish in Metal but there is one thing that comes to mind and that is a favorite movie of mine that has a cult following like no other. The Boondock Saints.

If you have never seen The Boondock Saints, you’re missing out on a great movie. Action packed and never a boring moment. Kinda has a Pulp Fiction feel to it as far as the story line goes. Things bounce back and forth but before long you know exactly what’s going on. Basically it is about two Irish brothers who get themselves mixed up with the Russian Mafia and then see it as a sign from God to go vigilante on criminal crime rings in Boston, Mass. If you’re up to it, run out and rent it. Hell, BUY IT! You Won’t be disappointed.

See you on the flipside!”

[…] My husband and I like this movie a lot. A little violent but I wouldn’t mind watching it over and over again. Willem Dafoe was beyond brilliant in this movie. But then again, when is he ever not? […]

Awesome movie. And if you want to listen to the best Irish band ever it’s Thin Lizzy. Skip ‘The Boys are Back in Town’ and listen to tracks like Suicide and Angel of Death.

I’m going to agree with Trench on Thin Lizzy, and disagree about Boondock Saints. I found it to be a bit by-the-crime-movie-numbers, personally. But, everyone and their brother loves it, so I’m in a very vocal minority.

aren’t most these days? But most of the time the guys that go vigilante are usually ex-military guys or cops or something like that. These guys were just two Irish dudes working in a meat packing plant just getting drunk, slapping each other in the face with slabs of meat and knockin out very butch lesbians that get into it with the wrong dudes and take it upon themselves to do the right/wrong thing. Listen to the priest in the flick when he talks about it being just as big of a crime when you sit back and watch it happen.

With stuff like this where people are so passionate about something, I try to give it another look in case factors prevented me totally receiving what was going on. Perhaps it’s time for another look at this one.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day everyone! and The Boondock Saints is such a great movie. I kind of feel like watching it again now, but it’s late..so I”ll save it for another time. I also agree that Thin Lizzy is an awesome Irish band.
