J. Mann On To Make Appearance With Mushroomhead

December 4, 2008 by Scott

admphotos227374-Mushroomhead J. Mann, the former singer of Cleveland based Mushroomhead recently spoke to D.X. Ferris (Who wrote the Slayer: Reign In Blood 33 1/3 paperback) of The Cleveland Scene in an extensive interview and history of Jason Popson (J.Mann’s real name). Popson is currently working with his project 216  and there may be a joint tour with Mushroomhead that could see J. Mann working with the band again.

If the (216) deal comes together, Mann could find himself riding with Mushroomhead much more often. Another joint tour would be a no-brainer. If that happens, it’s not a stretch that he could be part of their next record, which Felton has penciled in for mid-2009. The Mushroomhead main man makes it clear that replacement singer Waylon’s battle-braided head is not on the chopping block. But everyone might be better off if the next disc had a little touch of that J Mann magic.

I dug Mushroomhead with J. Mann, but I like them with Waylon as well. It would be interesting to see something with all three singer…just as a guest appearance thing. You know the two’s company, three is a crowd thing.

You can read the entire story at The Cleveland Scene. Metalunderground also conducted an interview with a few of the guys from Mushroomhead. That can be viewed at Metalunderground.com.
