Kataklysm Return With Ninth Studio Release, Prepare For Summer Tour

Northern hyperblast is back with a bang on Prevail, the ninth studio release from prolific Canadian brutalists, Kataklysm. Following on the heels of 2006’s critically-acclaimed In The Arms of Devastation, the band’s latest slab of blastbeaten death metal is some of the sharpest, most visceral material of the Montreal-based crew’s nearly 20-year career. Once again, the production process was supervised by the band’s guitarist J-F Dagenais, and the mix was pounded out by the one and only Jason Suecof (Chimaira, Trivium, Bury Your Dead), so it’s appropriately hefty and punishing. Joining in for some special guest shredding on Prevail is Pat O’Brien of Cannibal Corpse, Overkill’s Dave Linsk, and, of course, Suecof himself. In advance of the album’s May 27th release date, Kataklysm is offering up a wall of towering guitars and non-stop intensity called “The Chains of Power.”
