Lamb Of God Forbid: EarthsWrath News
March 4, 2009 by Scott
A week later and as usual we have some chart and sales results for two great albums. We all expected Lamb Of God’s Wrath to sell well and sold well it did. I mean, it didn’t sell Slipknot or Metallica well, but it still did pretty good selling around 68k copies and landing the album in the #2 spot on the Billboard 200 charts, losing that number 1 spot to Taylor Swift. Sadly this is only about 5k more than they sold during the first week of Sacrament’s release. This could be attributed to the economy or the fact that the album leaked a month before it was scheduled to drop
God Forbid’s Earthsblood didn’t do so well, only selling about 5600 copies but still enough to land them on the Billboard 200 at # 110. I think once they get on tour with Lamb Of God and on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival people will hear this album and want it. Either that or people are just downloading the hell out of this album. Unfortunately God Forbid is subject to people hating them in forums and discrediting them, even using racist words against them. But you have to ignore all that and check out this album! Most metal fans that bought a cd last week probably opted for the Lamb Of God, which I can understand, but I will stand by my opinion that THIS album is better than Wrath. Forget all the metalcore labels and everything that surrounds this band and LISTEN-TO-THE-ALBUM! It’s heavy, it’s thrashy and it’s catchy. I don’t know how many times I have to say it, Earthsblood kills!

Part of the issue with God Forbid’s new release could be the fact that alot of major retailers, i.e. Best Buy, only ordered one copy per store. I can’t fathom why any retailer would only order one copy of any new release. I ended up having to order mine from Century Media. Worked out great though as it only cost 10.00 versus 15.98 in Best Buy. Great CD by the way!!!
i guess i will see their greatness at the lamb of god concert.
maybe they will “steal the show”
funny story- when i was at mayhem fest I overheard some guy in the line for the bathroom say disturbed “stole the show like they do every time” from slipknot before slipknot even played. Their set wasn’t even that good, hey just got up there and said “say our name” alot and “scream for us”
Well, I doubt they’ll steal the show from Lamb Of God, but I’ve heard good things about them live. I doubt if anyone will steel the show when Lamb Of God headlines, no matter what albums their set list follows.
Disturbed didn’t steel any show from anyone at Mayhem fest. It was a good show but I wouldn’t pay to seem them headline any show. They did the same thing at the Mayhem Fest in VA as far as the say our name and scream for us thing. That was pretty corny and egotistical.
During Disturbed’s set in Chicago on Mayhem Fest we went to piss and get more beer.
The day disturbed uptakes slipknot or any other meatal band at mayhem is the day that i walk away from metal 4ever. wtf are they doing at mayhem anyway they should take their crappy songs and stand aside while the real gut searing, head banging, REAL metal bands do what they do best, steal the show
