Led Zeppelin Perform “Stairway” in this Reunion Footage.
December 11, 2007 by Scott
I hate to post two in a row about the same band, but this is historic. Here is a youtube video from last nights Zeppelin reunion of the ever so classic Stairway To Heaven. It just doesnt get better than this. As you know Zeppelins live shows sound much different than studio work but this performance sounds amazing. I also read that Jason Bonham was so nervouse before the show he was almost ill. I suppose I woul be too. How many times do you get to fill in your late father’s HUGE shoes to play for undoubtedly the greatest band in history…no, no, no…not the Beatles, they are far too over rated! Enjoy the video.

Cool! Sounding pretty good.
Thats what I thought. As old as they are they are still brilliant and still sound amazing!
I remember seeing this the night after the reunion. Needless to say, it was really amazing, and as soon as they started playing “Stairway” I felt chills going down my spine.

Fu** you! The Beatles is overrated but Led Zeppelin is just amazing. Let’s compare the two:
John Lennon > Robert Plant
George Harrison < John Paul Jones
Ringo Starr < Bonzo the great
I love this blog; you are good but you need to study the history of rock ‘n’ roll.
Also I missed the main point: Jimmy Page is FAR SUPERIOR than George Harrison.
Dude…where the hell did I say anything about the Beatles on this post being superior. I completely agree with the Beatles being over-rated.
But since you brought it up and said that Paul McCartney is better than Robert Plant, look at things this way. Paul McCartney plays it safe with vocals. There are very few Beatles songs that have a wide range for vocals. I wouldn’t compare the two today because as you get older, your vocals get lower and range suffers, but back during their prime Plant had far more range than McCartney ever did. Think about how many Beatles songs don’t explore wide vocal ranges and think about how many Zeppelin songs have HUGE, that’s right, HUGE vocal ranges to cover.
The reason that Zeppelin is superior to the Beatles in my opinion (and I’ve never liked the Beatles) is because they took chances with songs. Beatles songs are safe and boring…but catchy. With that said, Fuck you for misreading what I wrote. I’m a Zeppelin fan…and not a Beatles fan at all.
As for the vocal range, no one can ever argue that Freddie is the most genius rock vocalist. No offense man! Say what? Profanity has become part of many teens’ modus vivendi. I’m a teenager, aren’t you? Cheers for your blog. Some great stuff!!! My Pulseless Heart can not bear this (c)rap music driven generation anymore….. May I contribute a few posts please. I’m the frontman (errrrm lead-blogger) of Mindcafe.org!
Also, the youtube vid is gone
See…even I misread, John Lennon, but the point remains about range and vocal talent. Robert Plant is and was an amazing singer. Bigger and better than John Lennon ever was.
Yeah but John Lennon is, was and will be one of the greatest songwriter of all times.
Freddie Mercury is perhaps the greatest rock vocalist to ever live, hands down. No I’m not a teen. I’m 32, but bravo to you for knowing as much as you do about rock history for your age.
As far as contributing a guest post, it depends. If it will be more towards rock then perhaps I can arrange something for The Rock Dose, my other rock genre blog. I save this one for metal, mostly. Email me at Metalmartyr.com@gmail.com and we can discuss.
I was thinking the same exact thing (about John Lennon) before you mentioned that.
The youtube vid has been up for almost a year so I’m not surprised it’s not working anymore.
Yeah, obviously I’d seen the youtube vid. Youtube moderators are getting stricter and stricter according to TechCrunch. I’ve gmailed you.
