Megadeth Finish Recording
May 20, 2009 by Scott
Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has left the following message on TheLiveLine.com and sent out an excerpt in Megamail.
“I’m at the studio right now, Vic’s Garage, and we are done! We’re just right now finishing the last couple of notes on the new record, and Andy’s getting ready to pack his bags and head up to Los Angeles tomorrow to get ready to fly back home on Thursday. Man, this has been a long, grueling, enduring process but it’s been so worth it, and I’m so excited. I’m more excited about this record then I’ve been in any record since back in the 1980’s. I would say, probably since, well definitely since “Rust In Peace” there’s nothing that’s excited me this much – maybe “Countdown”, but this is just absolutely insane.”

I really liked United Abominations, though it still feels like it’s missing something at times. I hope this album keep it going and takes it up a few notches.

is it just me or megadeth always has a sense of good fucking RETRO metal? or maybe i’m always looking for something similar to “peace sells”
anyway… i’ll be waiting that album since they never dissapointed me.
You know, Megadeth and/or Dave Mustaine has kept up with the scene enough to know how to evolve then sound of the band but not stray way off course. He knows how to keep it relevant, yet stick to the core sound of Megadeth, even with the not so great albums. And that’s why I still dig the band just as much as I did the first time I heard them.
Sure I’ve had my disappointments but not as much as I have had with other bands that I liked. I knew that Dave would see the reception he got from the album and attempt to make the next one better. United Abominations was good but not as good as earlier albums but it was very listen-able and still get’s good rotation from me. I’ll say it again that I am very eager to hear what Chris Broderick brings to the mix.
Metalliga is the image of Megadeth in the “Bovine Eye”. It is true, Megadeth is difficult and needs some taste and cultivation to enjoy. Those who can’t make the effort there is always the plagiarized & diluted version.
