Metal Festival Round Up.
In the last 23 days all sorts of great metal festivals have been announced, so let’s round them up a bit.
Scion Rock Fest: February 28th in Atlanta Georgia.
So far there is about 35 bands lined up for this show…and it’s FREE! It’s not that easy though. To get tickets you have to go to www.scion.com/rock/ and register your email address starting on 1/28. Then you have to either pick up your tickets at one of the record stores listed here or pick them up at will-call. You better get there early if picking them up from will-call because space is limited and there’s no guarantee that you’ll get in. I’m working on getting some tickets to give away.
Virginia Death Fest: March 15th in Norfolk Virginia.
Suffocation is headlining this fest with Whitechapel, Beneath The Massacre, Vital Remains and various other death metal bands. Tickets at the door are $25 or you can preorder them for $23.95 ($20+fee). Order your tickets HERE.
Facedown Fest: April 3rd-4th in Pamona, California.
Christian metal festival with bands from the Facedown Record label. Single day tickets are $15 or $25 for the weekend. You can order them from Ticketmaster online.
California Metal Fest: March 28th in Anaheim, California.
Carcass….yeah, Carcass is headlining! Along with Suffocation, Whitechapel, The Faceless, Arsis, Psycroptic, Samael and various other death metal bands. Check back with their Myspace as more bands are added and ticket sales are made available.
Maryland Death Fest: May 22nd-24th in Baltimore, Maryland.
Three days of metal and bands that you don’t see that often on tour in these United States. 3 day passes are available for $115 or individual day passes from $38. More ticket information HERE.
New England Hardcore And Metal Fest April 17th-18th in Worcester, Mass.
Remember how I said you won’t find a better metal festival than the Maryland Death Fest? Well the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival made me a liar. A bit different line-up but more better known bands. Lamb Of God and All That Remains headlining. $79 for a two day pass and that’s a hell of a bargain considering the bands on the roster! Find out more at Their Official Site.
That’s a hell of a start for 2009! These festivals among the numerous tour lined up already this year are getting all sorts of metal-heads in to a frenzy!

…and still nothing on gigantour hahaha
