Metallica Push New Record Release Date To September
So you’ll have to wait a few more months to be thoroughly disappointed. It was first said by Lars that it should be ready by February, and then they said April. So now it’s September. You know what they say. “Never push a turd out too fast.” So perhaps when it comes out the guitars and drums and such will sound like Ride The Lightening or Master Of Puppets. But I would bet my paycheck on the fact that the vocals will sound like Reload or St. Anus. I have great faith in Rick Ruben…but I have lost faith in Metallica. All I can say is prove me wrong.

Let’s see how the new album sounds. I hope it sounds like albums before Black, but I cannot believe that happens because those days are far behind and Metallica probably wants to reach masses and the masses do not listen to old-school trash. This morning I heard System Of A Down’s Toxicity in radio and just realized that it sounds very much like St. Anger. In the book of Metallica Lars mentioned that he is a great fan of System Of A Down, and you can really hear that in St. Anger.
All in all, Metallica reaches new fans by changing their music style, but an old-school trash fans like me would like to hear guitar like in The Call of Ktulu or the anger in Dyer’s Eve.
Well, may be music goes on and I am stuck in the old stuff :)

If you don’t show progress in your music, your fan base stays the same. You must get the younger listeners to jump on the wagon too. If you keep the old sound, the old fans will die off after a few years and the band is left to die with them. I love the old “Master of Puppets” and would love to hear more like that and maybe Metallica will find a happy medium.<— Did that make sense???haha
