Metallica Recording Update
Metallica.com has updated their website with the following…
“The big update is… that there is nothing new to report. Things are as you would call it, status quo, consistent, constant, invariable, unaltered, unchanged, unfailing, uniform, unvarying. Pretty much what we are trying to say is: work is continuing and all is good in the Metallica hood. As soon as we do have something new to report, you will be the first to know of course! Ok, enough of this chit chat… back to work!”
“all is good in the Metallica hood”? Are they getting ghetto on us? Please tell me there won’t be any rapping on the new record.

No shit it was a joke, but I had to say something about it…and if there is rapping on this new record the only thing it will be “deadly” for is their career. Besides, I don’t think Rick Ruben would allow them to do that.

actually i rather liked the black album.
Thaught load/reload were crappy though.
Two or three on st. anger were good, but the drums sounded wierd (justice had wierd drums, but they worked)
anyway, back to the topic. The bit at ~4:50 of “one” is kinda rappy but is AWESOME

A lot of people like the Black album more than they will admit.
…And Justice For All had that real heavy bass and the snare was very snappy and sounded great on that album. You can’t really call that part of One rappy cause then you could call a lot of metal bridges and breakdowns in metal rappy.

“And Justice For All had that real heavy bass ”
it had virtually no bass in places (a bit flat), but the bits where you could hear it it was good. IMHO the bass on lightning/puppets was better

I meant bass drum (it sounded kind of “clicky” but it was cool) by that but you’re right about the bass guitar as well. Kinda flat in a lot or places. In fact I think the snare and clicky bass kinda drowns out any sign of bass guitar.
