Metallica | Selling Out Yet Again
Sorry, Couldn’t resist the headline. It’s amazing, no matter how much bad press they get. No matter how crappy of a record they put out lately, Metallica can still sell out a concert in less than an hour. I honestly don’t know why they even bother writing new material and recording it. Why don’t they just keep touring for the rest of their lives and playing old stuff. It works for Kiss and I’m sure it would work for them. If they use the excuse “We write new stuff to give the fans what they want.” then they should be ashamed. This is a damn lie because the fans want a GOOD record, not another St. Anger or Load or Re-load. At least The Black Album was a CD you could actually listen to. They write new stuff because they know there are actually people out there stupid enough that will actually pay for it. $$Cha-Ching$$

Even though they have put out some pretty sub par music lately, one thing you can always expect from Metallica is an awesome live show. So, just like most metal fans, I will run out and buy whatever crap they put out, memorize it (like I have done with the last three crappy albums), and go see them in concert where they rule.

I can’ stand the way James sings these days. It’s like Bob rock ruined him or something. I have had all three of the last three records in my hand about to buy them and some voice in my head told me before I got to the register to put it back. I wish that voice was there when I bought the Dragonforce and Bullet for my Valentine CDs.

If there next record is as good as they say it’s going to be and I like it. I promise to never talk trash about them again. I honestly hope this IS the case. I would love to be able to review the new cd and say great things about it. And if it’s crap, well….
