Metallica…and more Metallica

by User ImageMetal Martyr on June 2nd, 2008

nutty Metallica

I’m tired of posting Metallica news almost as much as most of you are tired of seeing it. The fact is that Metallica still has a Load of fans (pun intended) that want to read anything and everything Metallica. So in relation to those people that like to read about Metallica without me being a cynical bastard, I give you two quick bits of Metallica news.

Guitar Hero: Metallica may be in the works. Gamespot.com reported this:

“In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms,” the company said in its report. Activision’s fiscal year ends on March 31, 2009, which means that the game will likely follow the holiday release of Guitar Hero: World Tour (nee Guitar Hero 4).

I think that would be pretty cool…for sales. How about a Guitar Hero Slayer?

If you wanted a Master Of Puppets reissue on heavy vinyl then your going to have to wait another month. Blabbermouth.net reports:

METALLICA’s classic 1986 album “Master of Puppets” will be reissued on heavy-duty vinyl on July 15 – one month later than the previously announced June 17 release date. This is the third in the band’s series of vinyl reissues. Like “Kill ‘Em All” (1983) and “Ride The Lightning” (1984), “Master of Puppets” will be made available in the following formats: a single disc at 33 rpm and a deluxe two-disc version on 180-gram vinyl spinning at 45 rpm.

Does anyone actually listen to these types of re-issues when they get them or are they more or less a collectors piece like they are to me. I have a few pieces of vinyl. It looks nice in my collection but I doubt if I have it on cd that I would ever listen to it on vinyl.

You know it is possible to turn vinyl recordings into digital and made available for illegal download.

Oh my god. If they made this game I would buy it in two seconds.

Guitar Hero Slayer could be cool but probably too hard for my fingers, lol.

I think it would really depend on how they do the Guitar Hero Metallica. If they did it where you could choose the different eras of metallica and old to new that would be cool. I think it would be expected to have a lot of good cover songs that kinda fit the ones Metallica have done in the past.

Guitar Hero Slayer would be impractical due to the fact that Tommy Araya’s voice doesn’t have a whole lot of range and if they are actually using these singer’s voices or similar then I don’t know how they would do it. I also don’t think Slayer would be any worse on your fingers than Metallica. If they did old Metallica and old Slayer maybe. I don’t think they are just doing the bands songs on these band themed Guitar Hero games.
