My Metal Slump And How This Blog Dug Me Out Of It.
It’s my time to bore you once more. Since this blog started, I have been introduced to so much great metal. For the past, let’s say 4 years I have been in this slump. This neutral place in my metal fan-hood that left me bored with metal. I was bored with metal because I wasn’t pursuing new bands. I was tired of a new sh*tty band at every turn so I stopped looking for new bands and just sat and waited to see what my old favorites put out next. This started to become redundant, especially after Metallica’s St. Anger, Megadeth’s The System Has Failed and Danzig’s Circle Of Snakes had me less than impressed.
The only thing that curbed my boredom for the time being was Slipknot’s Volume 3(which I still got bored with after some time). And there after a few bands that came into my possession every now and then, like Trivium and Killswitch Engage. When I was interviewed for this blog I told the editor that I try to keep up with the new scene but I honestly was telling myself that I didn’t know what was what these days and I was going to have to work hard to find out what is currently out there and keep up with the news.
Long story, short. Since I started this blog I have found so many bands the are out there that I had been missing through the past years and rediscovering my lust for metal. I mean, let’s face it…there is so much garbage out there that sometimes you don’t know whats good and whats not. Obviously my opinion for whats good is always going to be different from some peoples and everyone isn’t going to like the same bands I like, but if it’s pure shit, annoying, not really metal (We’ll get into that later), or just some produced or invented band I’m going to speak out about it. Don’t let yourself get into a slump like I did, because there is always good bands out there that just need to be heard, don’t let it get you down. Metal is and always has been alive and well!

I was kind of in a metal slump like…three or four years ago. For some reason, I just sort of stopped listening to metal for a little while. Can’t remember exactly why, but I got out of it and my interest in metal came back after about a year. I guess I wasn’t able to find any good bands to listen to, and after having the same old bands over and over, I got a little tired.
After hearing some metalcore, and learning about a bunch of great bands from my friend, I started going to shows again, and the rest is history…
