New Details On Slipknot All Hope Is Gone cd/dvd

July 29, 2008 by Scott

ahil.jpgThe new Slipknot release All Hope Is Gone is going to have a cd/dvd special edition pack. The dvd will contain “The Making Of All Hope Is Gone” and will be directed by once again Shawn “Clown” Crahan. So what can you expect the dvd to be like. I’m going to take a guess and say you’ll see some flies, maybe some road kill, a lot of in and out focusing, some black and white shots, some abstract scenes of irrelevant shit and maybe if we’re lucky a few shots of the band actually making the record.

I get tired of seeing that crap in the videos and stuff. Inside The 9 really went over the edge with it and turned an otherwise potentially cool video into a long and drawn out dog turd. Did anyone see the recent interview with him when they were showing the premiere for Psychosocial video and he says something to the sort of “Our fans are called maggots…and what do maggots turn into? Flies”…and that was the end of it. It was like he started a cool analogy and went absolutely nowhere with it. I don’t know what the hell this dudes talking about half the time in interviews.

hopefully the lamb of god dvd i will win will be better. I saw disasterpeices and it turned out to be quite cool (especially being able to change the angle you were viewing and stuff) but the cd-dvd will obviously be nothing like that -log

Slipknot kills. They are a great band with some crazy live energy and an extremely heavy almost death metal sound. But look at them individually and they definitely are greater then the sum of their parts. Individual interviews with the band members almost always suck. And Crahan is nothing but a moron. I look forward to the new album. But they should stick to the stage, and stop trying to be so cool during interviews.

By the way, saw Korn with Joey Jordinson playing drums for them. The loudest audience moment of the show was when Joey came out wearing his slipknot mask. Then Korn started playing new songs from the recent albums and it all fell apart.

I’m looking forward to it too. I’m just not looking forward to another Shawn Crahan productions shit video crapumentary.

I got the cd/dvd, and the dvd was ok, the cd was great. The big headed guys were actually pretty cool. I did think that the DVD was interesting in the fact that other than Sid , Joey, and Corey, you never really get a good look at any of the others. Side views, dark views, back views, but it sort of left an air of mystery about them.
It won’t be in heavy dvd view rotation, but I’ll watch it from time to time.
I’d have liked to have seen more of them making the cd, but the snippets you get are really something.

Yeah, the DVD wasn’t too bad. Not too much of that obscure shit like inside the 9. The funniest part is when they were recording that huge marching band style bass drum and Sean Crahan was just standing there hitting the drum every now and then. Shows how much meticulous shit goes into recording a slipknot album.
