Pointing Fingers Pt. 2 | The Devils Rejects
I have a few words for all the Metal heads that take themselves and the music we love too seriously and make us all look bad. GROW UP YOU STUPID, DISRESPECTFUL, IGNORANT LITTLE S**TS! It’s quite obvious that 98% of heavy metal music and Christianity don’t mix. Yes some Christian groups are annoying and when they come knocking on your door or approach you trying to spread the good word you just want to tell them to STFU. But to take the music so seriously that you would do so much as to burn down a church just to make yourself feel more “metal”, well thats not only stupid but it gives people more reason to look at metal in a bad way.
I used to be hateful towards Christianity and all religion for that matter. After time you grow up and you see things a little more clearly. You realize that every religion, group, organization whether its the Boy Scouts the NRA or the Barbie fan club all has it’s bad seeds. There is bad things in all good and good things in all bad. I’m not trying to change anyones mind about how they feel about religion or metal but the same people that scream open mindedness are the same ones that keep a closed mind when it comes to listening to the other side of the argument.
All I want is the idiots that listen to the music and think it has some vile message to go rape their neighbors dog or burn down the local church to think about how stupid your going to look when you get caught. Do you think Gwar wants you to go kidnap some 6 year old, rape/and or murder them? NO, STUPID! It’s music. Do you think video game makers are trying to tell you to go shoot up your school?
Grow up, get a set of balls, stop being such a whiny little child and enjoy it for what it is! Because when you go do something stupid “In the name of heavy metal” you make us all look stupid and embarrassed to be a part of the same thing that you are. What are you proving by burning down a church besides that your a coward. You want to burn something go set your face on fire…
It’s music…and thats all!

I’m a Christian and love Metal. I’ve not read in the bible where it says we can’t listen to music about anger, death, destruction, etc. I’m sure if anyone took the time to read Revelations, they’d see some pretty awesome writings, “Then you will see lightning-bolts leaping from his eyes and stars from his body” and “I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.”
If the authors of Revelations were alive today, they just might have written their words to Metal!

Nice article. I’m a Christian, and if anyone says God isn’t metal, they just need to read Jeremiah. Anyways, fantastic article. It’s true that people need to stop using music, or videogames or what have you, as a scapegoat for their own bad behavior and poor choices.
