Possessed: Your Rare, Prized and Despised
July 6, 2007 by Scott
I’d like to share with you a few things in my collection that I’m proud to have and not so proud of. In return I’d like to see what other people have in their collection that are precious, rare and hear about that CD you bought that’s just plain crap.
My rarity is a Megadeth Peace Sells record. Sure it doesn’t sound rare but stamped in the top left corner in gold lettering is “Property of Capitol Records, for promotional use only, not for resale”. I like finding old stuuf like this to add to my small vinyl collection.
Next up is my Slayer “Till Death Do Us Part” live record. This is one of those boot leg records from the mid eighties. It has a classic picture of the classic line up on the back. During the Diabolus in Musica album tour I went to a signing in Baltimore and had them sign the back of it. Everyone signed it on their picture except for the obvious. Paul Bostaph signed off to the side. I wish Dave could have signed it. Maybe one day. This is my prized possession.
The CD I”m most ashamed of buying is by a band called “Psycore”. I don’t even know if I spelled their name right. I do know is that this band is garbage. The CD had a cool cover, a semi-cool name and there wasn’t anything else I was interested in at the time in that particular store. Everyone has those few things that they hold dear and each person holds different value to them. Your turn…and I don’t want to hear about your precious Squier Strat you got autographed buy all the members of Good Charlotte!
