Review: Mushroomhead Vol. 2 DVD
Mushroomhead are set to release their second DVD, properly titled Vol. 2 on October 28th and have already headed out on tour again with The Autumn Offering, XFactor1 and Human Factors Lab on October 3rd. With that said, let’s get in to this DVD.
Vol. 2 is packed with so much backstage and hilarious behind the scene touring footage. The DVD has the videos for 1200, Simple Survival, Burn, The Doubt, Damage Done and Save us. There are also live videos of 1200, Burn, and Simple Survival. If you want Mushroomhead only full of live performances, then you are out of luck.
In the backstage and touring footage there’s no face-blocking or masks. It’s all the members in their normal raw form. Drinking, fighting and screwing around, keeping themselves entertained.
The live performances and videos show the band doing what they do. They Put on a great show with the twisted and totally creepy way. And…there’s boobs. Lot’s of boobage going on. Not the best looking boobs, but boobs nonetheless, and that’s always cool. Oh, and guns. I forgot guns. There are cuts of the band and crew shooting off some pretty high caliber weapons. Waylon was a good choice for replacing J Mann, but I can’t understand a damn word he saying when he’s talking.
Overall, the music videos, live performances and everything is great, but what I like best is the comedic value of the behind the scenes, tour bus fun. I don’t own Vol. 1 but it’s been put on the list.
