Scrap Metal Report: Halloween Edition
October 31, 2008 by Scott
It’s the end of the month and perhaps the coolest holiday of the year. What other time can you dress up like a fool and get away with it…besides in Black Metal? I thought about dressing up like Dimebag Darrell this year but it’s been far too cold out to where shorts and I couldn’t find a cool BLS leather vest (or something similar). So I’ll just have to take the kids and go out there as the scariest, most vile and ugly thing in the world…myself! I’ve missed a few things in the past few days that hold some significant news value, so seeing how slow this day is starting out I thought I would just consolidate.
Mastodon have revealed their upcoming album title as “Crack The Sky“. You can check out the track list here. No sneak peak listen leaks have been sourced out yet, but I’m sure they’ll post something on myspace or elsewhere in the next few months.
Cattle Decapitation released some details on their upcoming album “The Harvest Floor” Bravewords.com has all the details on that.
Bolt Thrower will play first U.S. Show in 14 years. I don’t know about you guys, but I could go another 14.
The dude that leaked the Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy songs was lucky enough to get his charges reduced to a misdemeanor, which gives him even less of a chance of getting the Hot Beef Injection. They’re taking this anti-piracy thing pretty serious these days…and yet there are so many unsolved murders.
Lastly, I’ll be running two give aways starting in November. I have a copy of All That Remains Overcome to give away. It’s a new copy but it was opened in hope to get an autograph for the giveaway, but that never happened. The second thing is a guitar pick autogrpahed by Fredrik Akesson of Opeth. It’s an actual guitar pick he has used and autographed with a not-so-fine-point Sharpie. So even though it is autographed, the signature isn’t really readable. None the less it the real deal and I was pretty happy that he was kind enough to do that for me.
Interviews: I have yet to transcribe the Opeth interview with Fredrik, but it’s coming. I have another one too on it’s way, but I don’t want to give any details until I’m sure.

I am new to this feed but I have to say it is quite entertaining. Keep it coming.
Cool, stick around. It only get’s better.
wow, i’d be um’ing and ah’ing like a bloody handicap if i ever met fredrik haha
