Sebastian Bach – Love Is A Bitch Slap Video
June 29, 2008 by Scott
On Vh1 Classics the other days I saw this video when I was channel surfing. I watched it from wherever I cam in at to the end. My first question is, is all that leather mandatory? Does he still think it’s a metal fashion statement or something? Anyway, This is one of those videos where they shoot a live performance and dub the sound over the top of it. Half the time he was singing in the audio, he wasn’t in the video. I don’t like the song. I think it’s corny and it sucks. I also know that Sebastian Bach’s voice isn’t nearly what it was back in his prime and he’s not that old. Perhaps that’s what kissing Axl Rose’s ass 24/7 does to your your vocal chords, I don’t know. Now I used to really like his vocals back in the Skid Row days. He had some really great pipes and could hit those high notes but those days are over. I can only imaging how awful this is in a live performance. Watch the video…do the math, gargle afterwards.

Ahhh the Skid Row days. These guys slayed live ( I have seen way too many concerts…) I saw them twice in their heyday ( once with Pantera opening ( imagine that if you can it was the Cowboys From Hell tour ) and then later that year with Guns n Roses ( Use Your Illusion tour ). Anyways Skid Row- Fun band , great live, burnt out way before their time.
You know, I haven’t listened to the first two in a long time. I really used to enjoy all the power ballads on Slave To The Grind as well as the rest of the songs, but there was always something about In A Darkened Room, Quicksand Jesus, and Wasted Time. I remember many times driving from Quantico VA, 8 hours to upstate NY blaring Wasted Time and trying to hit the high notes…I’m glad there wasn’t any candid camera in my car. lol.
I think I will crank Youth Gone Wild and Slave To The Grind Tommorow.
On Blabbermouth a few days ago I saw a headline that said “Sebastian Bach: I Refuse To Suck” …I just left that one alone…it was way too easy.
You know what though, I give Sbash a little credit because he is doing well at staying just barely relevant in this age of metal….but I still think Angel Down sucks.
