Skeletonwitch welcomes new bass player; update from DANZIG Tour
October 20, 2008 by Scott
Ohio’s sons of Midwestern darkness, SKELETONWITCH, are happy to announce the addition of bassist Evan Linger to the band. Linger, a long-time friend of the band entered the fold after the departure of Eric Harris. Evan has been out with THE WITCH since Oct. 2 when the pre-Danzig / Blackest of the Black dates kicked off.
"I’m stoked to be a part of SKELETONWITCH,” Linger says about joining the band. “I’ve been friends with these assholes for quite a long time so I have a pretty good idea of what I’m in for…a hangover!"
"We we would like to officially welcome our new bass player, Evan Linger, to SKELETONWITCH,” guitarist Nate Garnette states. “He’s a bad-ass friend, a bad-ass player, and an all around bad-ass dude. Bad-ass!!”
THE WITCH has been tearing it up on the Blackest of The Black Tour with Danzig and Dimmu Borgir since early October, a tour that will take the package all the way to culmination in San Francisco on Nov. 10. Guitarist Scott Hedrick comments: “BLACKEST OF THE BLACK has been an amazing tour so far. All of the bands, crew, and Glenn himself, have been unbelievably killer! The atmosphere is great and everyone involved works together whether it’s helping a band get on stage (i.e. we’re sharing a lot of gear) or to party their ass off (i.e. we make Moonspell drink shitty American beer). It’s a hell of a lot of fun. And on top of everything…we get to watch DANZIG devastate the stage every night. Truly fucking amazing!”
Continuing to support the band’s Prosthetic Records debut, ‘Beyond The Permafrost,’ SKELETONWITCH is already hard at work on music for the follow-up record. A video for “Sacrifice For The Slaughtergod” was recently completed with director Brian Wiebe earlier this fall and should be available at video outlets and online shortly.
