Slipknot: All Hope Is…Gold
December 19, 2008 by Scott
Slipknot’s August 26th release, All Hope Is Gone has been certified gold in the United States. ON December 9th the RIAA officially certified it gold after the record has sold almost 600k copies since it’s release.
Does this mean that this is a great record? I think I’ve stated my dislike for this record enough already, considering that I’ve loved every other album they’ve released so far. Some people say that a bands name can sell records as long as they have established themselves in the music business. I can totally agree with this statement even with the recent “flop” of sales of Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy.
I say “Flop” because everyone is saying that it’s been a huge failure…and it has. It has flopped in the sense that they expected to sell a lot more than it has up to date, even though it’s sold over 300k in less than a month. Most metal bands these days are happy if they sell 10k in the first month.

hell yeah i totally agree too, this a metal band not a popular soft rock band crap.
On the contrary I do like some of the slower songs they do. Some of the heavy songs on this album just fall short and feel rushed as I’ve expressed so many times before. I hate to use the term “Uninspired” but that’s how All Hope Is Gone feels.
fuck you this album kicks ass burn in hell faggots
No matter what they do slipknot is the best Maggot for life bitches!
You’re the exact reason why some people are ashamed to admit that they are Slipknot fans. They don’t want to be associated with people like yourself.
This isn’t little league where everyone gets a trophy no matter how shitty they do. This is metal. You fuck it up and we say so. You do good and we say so. Stop being a damn fanboy.
