Slipknot Headlining the Smokeout Festival, Announce Make-Up Shows
September 2, 2009 by Eric J
Slipknot will be headlining Cypress Hill’s Smokeout Festival this year at the San Manuel Amphitheatre and festival grounds in San Bernardino, CA. Hosted by Cheech and Chong, the Smokeout Festival takes place on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24.
Smokeout Festival will be host to many bands and guest speakers during the two day event, aimed at cannibus workshops, grow tips, and let’s face it… just getting really, really high. Which somehow culminates in Slipknot. Now, I don’t smoke weed anymore. However, I used to smoke a lot. I can’t remember one time that I got blazed out of my mind and said “Hey dudes, let’s put some Slipknot on!”.
Don’t get me wrong, Slipknot is a great band, but when you’re stoned beyond belief? Shit, it was Sublime or freakin’ Slightly Stoopid time for me.
Anyway, some of the bands taking the stage at this two day festival of peace, love and lots of munchies will be:
- Bad Brains

- Afrika Bambaataa
- Geto Boys Reunion
- Method Man/Redman
- Kottonmouth Kings
- Pennywise
- Deftones
- Cypress Hill
- Sublime (yes, Bradley is unfortunately still dead)
- Slipknot
- and many more!
Ticket pre-sale begins Friday, September 4 at 10:00am. On-sale to the general public is slated for Saturday, September 12 at 10:00am. Contact Ticketmaster or Livenation for tickets.
In other Slipknot news, the band has announced that they will be performing make-up shows for their canceled dates in Auburn and Kennewick, Washington. The new dates are:
Oct. 10 – Auburn, WA – White River Amphitheater
Oct. 11 – Kennewick, WA – Toyota Center
