Slipknot…Good Murder Music

A few years a go, some jack ass listened to Slipknot’s Disasterpiece right before killing someone. Not the first time something like this has happened. Probably won’t be the last. The problem I have is this. Why is it always heavy Metal that gets the bad rap.
One of two people who were convicted of luring their friend to his death after listening to the heavy-metal band SLIPKNOT is scheduled to return to San Bernardino County Superior Court on August 29. According to The Press-Enterprise, Jason Lamar Harris (photo), 25, will be sentenced to a 50-year-to-life term in the late-night stabbing of friend Terry Ray Taylor, 21, on May 23, 2003.
How come they never make a big deal about the dudes that listen to Caren and The Carpenters right before brutally murdering someone? I think we need to focus more on those freaks! We’ve only just begun….

I can see its always heavy metal, but why the more well known bands? why not black dahlia murders closed casket requiem (im not sure on there popularity, but i dont hear much of them around here.)
next thing i know i wont legally be allowed to listen to death metal… just like soon people under 18 (or 17 in some places) wont be able to have M rated games (or something similar, im probably wrong on it being totally illegal)
mmm, the Black Dahlia. Just started to get into them. Another band that I didn’t like right off the line. Don’t worry, you’ll see more BDM here from now on.
The last time I killed something at all was a possum on my back deck…with a baseball bat and about 7 beers in me. I don’t recall if I was even listening to any music, but that little bastard won’t get in my trash again! They make them look so cute in cartoons but they are ugly mean giant rats. Just thought I’d share that…
i killed a gopher with a golf ball, it was a beautiful drive and it landed squarely on the little bloke’s neck. i was shocked at first, then i was kinda curious how many other people have conquered the animal kingdom with a driver and a golf ball.
once again though, metal is the easy scape goat. easier to blame the music and society you don’t understand then to try to figure out why the kid would stab someone many times.
I think society should be more worried about all the people that listen to gangster rap right before doing a drive by on poor defenseless grocery stores and shit.. congrats on making metal martyr full time!
mostly i think its because heavy metal is such a taboo amongst the conservative types that anyone who listens to heavy metal is either out to kill themselves or someone else. which is pretty much bullshit because sometimes i think heavy metal gives me the outlet i need to not go and kill someone.
I have to agree with giles on the rap issue.. I mean… Not ALL metal songs talk about going around killing, shooting down gangstas, defiling women, treating women as tools, and doing/selling drugs right? I guess people just don’t wanna get shot if they start blaming rap music.
I love metal. But I’m not some crazy sociopath that likes killing because the music tells me to.
All this heavy metal and killing people is bullshit, im a big fan of slipknot, lamb of god and burn the preist, five finger death punch, machine head, messhugah and i’ve never had a thought about killing anyone let alone just shooting something. To me metal music is a way that i can express my anger instead of hurting people. These are the kind of people that make this country suck and try to ruin everything,.
