Splattered Mermaids?

I Thought I would start off the new year with a band with a rather odd name. Mermaids…not very metal by any means…but splatter those fishy little wenches and that’s metal as all hell, right?

Splattered Mermaids: Well don’t judge these Swedes by their name. They have a pretty good, brutal death metal sound to them. You can check out some of their songs on Myspace and they are hitting the studio this month in Sweden to record a few songs for a split with Fekalizator.

Of course most American metal fans never hear of these lesser know European bands unless they are signed to one of the larger labels. That’s what’s great about the internet. You get turned on to killer new bands with goofy names every day.

Download Splattered Mermaids – Sliced Girls from Stench Of Flesh. This song isn’t all that great but I’d still like to hear what else they have to offer cause this one is only a little over a minute long.

The above picture is of the bands last album called Stench Of Flesh on Bizarre Leprous Productions. This label is also the home to such bands with name such as Spermswamp, Destructive Explosion Of Ana Garland and Reek Of Shit. I’m dead serious, those are real band names.
